The second game in the series. Refer to my review for the first game about the overall information of these series.
This game's .exe shows the date of December 21st, 2012 (17:28 is the time that shows up for me), which is much later in comparison to the first game that was made on December 8th, 2012. You can pretty much say that this is where these series kicked off.
Now this game continues the same trope from the first game. You have the same visuals, same guy rock, and even the same idea of gameplay.
This time the Medium difficulty needle is slightly harder than for the first game, although you also only have 2 saves. Despite that, I would rate medium difficulty around the same as the hard difficulty for the first game. After all, in this game in the very last save you need to do reverse diagonal and also a gate jump before that. You could also say that it is harder than the Hard difficulty, considering there was the combo of regular diagonals and gate jumps, but I will just rate them equally, to be honest.
As for the Hard difficulty, it is surely the hardest setting as of now. The first save is slightly harder, but you need to be just careful. But in the second save you need to do 2 additional diagonals, and also slightly elevated gate jump. This is why I would give this a rating of 17, I guess.
The game gives pretty much the same emotions as the prequel. Except it feels repetitive this time. So, I will give this game lower rating than for the first game.
You can play on both difficulties, both of them are easy.
Still, I would not recommend this game. There is not much to do to call this worthy of your time.

Needle itself is easy.
Traps are annoying.
Chasing is OK.
Gravity is the hardest part to me.

typically I really like Yoyo games, as I think his avoidance and needle styles are unique and easily recognizable. something is slightly up with this game, I couldn’t quite tell what it was. it feels unusually empty, even for a Yoyo game. it didn’t have much of anything in the way of platforming and I first tried every boss except a select three. Yoyo does like making ‘easy’ games, but I feel like he was holding back far too much for Salt. I feel Yoyo shines most in the 40-65 difficulty range — which unfortunately excludes this game
the rooms feel empty, long and boring. missing a secret means re-trekking through all those empty rooms you thought you wouldn’t have to run through again. on the topic of secrets, some secrets aren’t very clear and seem to unlock at random. to be clear, my issue isn’t Yoyo-style needle. it’s just that the needle is practically nonexistent even for Yoyo standards. the secrets had the only semi-interesting platforming in the entire game, which is unfortunate since they’re few and far between. there’s also random traps that just kinda miss you, I don’t really understand the point of them. the bosses are all unnamed Yoyo creatures that spew some kind of RNG at you. one boss you might know — Sanipalt (the extra boss), is the sole recognizable character in the entire game. strangely, I think this name was not coined by Yoyo or anyone along those lines. ‘Sanipalt’ as a name first appears in I wanna Break the Series Z 3. in Z3, this boss is the 4th hidden boss and in the achievement he’s called Sanipalt. similarly named is the 2nd hidden boss, which happens to be another character of Yoyo fame — the creature from Gel. there he’s called Leglt, which has no basis in anything officially stated by Yoyo, meaning PDPlayer likely just made the name up. the similarity of Leglt and Sanipalt suggests that Sanipalt is also a made up name. I suppose the boss itself is interesting, as it’s the hardest and longest boss in all of Salt. I didn’t first try it, it isn’t as easy as it looks. it’s easy to misread/overthink something and die in a silly way
would I recommend it for a beginner? sure. however, if you’re anywhere above the intended skill level, it might be very boring

precision game with a few interesting setups utilizing high framecount jumps. the saves typically consist of two to three jumps maximum, with a slightly longer final save that is kinda fun despite feeling somwhat generic. hasn’t got much going on in the way of visuals and music, but it’s nothing offensive/intrusive
