Honestly this avoidance is amazing, sadly on windows 11 makes the game not that fun anymore as for reasons: causing random speed-ups up to 1.5 (feeling wise) for like 5 seconds. This occurs every 3-10 minutes and the problem occurs only for people using this ver of windows.

This was pretty fun but some rooms at the end of the darkness part were kinda annoying
Spoilers for story:
I knew something was up with the story since it didn't really make sense how your family just came back. It's kinda depressing because the true ending implies you just kill yourself. If you don't know what I'm talking about, wait on the ending screen for a while.

Probably the most mixed feelings I have ever had for a fangame. This game is really cool, and it has a lot of gameplay variety. Some of the stuff is awesome, and some of it is terrible. Unfortunately easily the hardest thing in the game is also the worst (the avoidance)

extremely good and easy needle game with exceptional pathing, reminiscent of certain om1 creations. despite the low difficulty, the game manages to do quite a bit with what it has. the tilesets look fine and are very simple which I like - it doesn't take a lot to make pleasant-looking needle.
the only complaint I'd have is that this game is made using one of the most irritating engines with the most uncomfortable physics of any modern engine

as Natsu once said: "Does objectivity of design really matter that much when it's fun anyway?"
Clarence, despite the rather silly name, is an extremely fun 100f game. despite the next-to-nonexistent difficulty balancing, the game somewhat retains a fair upward difficulty curve (as it should). there are still floors which are vastly harder and easier than others in true CN1 fashion. for instance, expect f90 to be somewhat harder than all the others, along with f100 which will be something you for sure aren't expecting. the game doesn't use any gimmicks at all and just kinda sticks to jtool needle for the most part. the thing is, it's just raw fun. there isn't anything exceedingly interesting or memorable about the needle aside from a few saves later on in the game. there's something special about games that don't care about their quality but strive to create gameplay that is plain and simple fun. I just enjoy that mindset greatly
this game is by most accounts very ugly and doesn't have much going for it in the visual department. clashing tilesets, simply displeasing color combinations and distracting backgrounds. the music is at times unfitting - i.e. one of the early tilesets just has Entrance playing over it. call it several brave stylistic decisions or just naivety, this is the only bad thing about this game
highly recommended!

bordering on not even being a needle game, as 100% of its difficulty is gimmick and puzzle-focused, this game is somewhat disappointing. I'm not a huge fan of gimmicks and puzzles in the first place, so my opinion may be a little skewed. most of the stages are somewhat well-designed and fun, but nothing extraordinary. the problem boils down to two stages - the bounce block stage and the last stage. the largest issue with the game is the bounce block stage, as it isn't quite clear what you have to do, and the game essentially turns into a puzzle game. you'll just be left guessing jump heights and trying to make sense of physics-defying bounce logic. by 'physics-defying bounce logic' I mean that there are often cases where if you jump from really high onto a bounce block, you'll eventually begin gaining height after a few bounces for no apparent reason. this doesn't happen even slightly at lower heights, so why should it at higher heights? there is a screen that abuses this innately illogical property. despite it not being that hard, I wasn't really sure what to think of it. the last stage isn't too fun since it combines all the gimmicks somewhat poorly and just boils back down to puzzle again, which I just couldn't enjoy after the bounce block stage. the non-gimmick platforming is rather redundant. some jumps are randomly made harder and require strange fulljumps or highjumps to clear. it just doesn't feel good, especially when coupled with the gimmicks
