Totally fine needle game, it's got a lot of precise jumps but in an environment that's extremely managable, if anything it might be a good tool to get beginners less intimidated by named jumps like corners and the such. It's not super creative but it's fun to play, and some rooms are decently memorable.

I came looking for copper and found gold, i thought this game would be a generic and bad trap game, but its not, there are many traps in all stages, some of them are a bit creative and fun, others not so, but im the kind of player that dont mind traps, in fact, i like them. There a bit of variety in the stages, some gimmiks, i enjoyed all of them in general. I hated a bit the invisible stage and the other one with has japanese kanjis intead of blocks and spikes, it was a bit hard to determine the spikes sprites. My surprise with this game came with the bosses, all bosses are avoidances, and im not a big fan of that kind of bosses. For me its not fun to learn avoidances, its very frustating to only have 1 live and how slow the movement of the kid is to dodge. But in this game you can get hit many times!!! This was the first time i was enjoying avoidances and willing to learn them!!! The vocaloid songs choices are amazing, i love all of them. For people that are good with avoidances maybe this game will not be that good or surprising, but for people who struggle with avoidances and dont enjoy them (bc starting all over, how long some avoidances are, the limited manouver of the kid, etc) this game is the best in my opinion. If i get into avoidances in the future it will be thanks to this game. I love this. The stages and some level design have flaws, but the avoidances at the end of each stage make me forgive all of them. If i could tag this game i would put "avoidance friendly".

Frankly, I think the reputation this game gets is completely unwarranted. Eight Beelzebubs is completely shit on every time it is brought up. I went in expecting this to be a dumpster fire sudoku mess, where it is redeemable only in the humor of its insanity. However, I wound up playing a creative, varied, adventure game! It's certainly not fantastic, but it's quite good! In fact, I would say that nothing in the game is straight up bad! There's plenty of stuff that's just kinda okay, but there's also several things that are super unique and really cool! I would go so far as to say that this game is better than notable sections in many highly regarded adventure games!
Seriously, this game has some funny basic traps, good silly sections, and some interesting trigger needle. The "bad" parts are just cases of people disliking weird visuals and silly game design. Furthermore, the gimmicks are really creative and are used to make some really fun sections. Highlights are the famous honey stage, an interesting take on a "rhythm" game, and a memory-based color switching section.
Ultimately, this is very much not a game for everyone! The game design is often non-traditional, creating gameplay that's quite wacky (I don't mean this as a euphemism for bad). I can see how people don't like this, but I find the cries of "worst fangame ever" completely divorced from reality. I would highly encourage people to play this, if you are a fan of strange, sometimes abrasive, design.
