Device is sort of the stereotype of an old LoveTrap inspired fangame, and to be fair it's extremely old, but at the same time it definitely does a lot of the common pitfalls that these types of games have, tons of flying spike traps which suck, unbalanced and often boring bosses and avoidances, and generally a lack of much to really distinguish itself or give it a personal identity aside from a few reoccurring things here and there like invisible spikes, and I suppose at this point the blue Miku is a bit of an icon. The game isn't completely horrible, but nothing really stood out to me as super enjoyable, especially when you get to extra where a lot of the content is notably worse than the main game. The final miku avoidance mostly comes down to two really unfair attacks, it's just not pleasant. Not the worst game but it definitely hasn't aged well which is unfortunate to see.

It's kinda fun. Not really great, but has some heart. Long several needle stages with some interesting shenanigans through, and kinda awkward but enjoyable boss at the end. Nothing to dislike pretty much, nothing to love strongly, it was just quite good trifling for me

Honestly fun for the most part with some unique ideas, bosses were especially enjoyable. Some traps can be quite frustrating, but it is what it is. I had good time overall

For the most part a fun needle game, with some nice movements and pretty fun design. Each stage incorporates some small gimmicks, and I ultimately think limiting these to a single stage is to the game's detriment. The trigger usage in stage 2 is probably the highlight of the game, I wish they had existed in the subsequent stages.
The difficulty balance is a bit whack, especially in the final stage, where it becomes almost unbearable. Shoutouts to the penultimate save, which is frankly awful. It's far more precise than anything else, it manifests in a sequence of really unpleasant jumps.
Overall, this game is a tentative recommendation, although with the exception of a few saves in final stage it would be a full recommendation. Your call if you want to put up with that.

If you ever go kayin forum spelunking on the wayback machine (like I do from time to time), you may see a sentiment pop up often (mostly during the early days; i.e. mid-2008 to early-2010) that goes like "fangame, tribute and ultimatum are da bestest fangays evar and everyting else is stinky doo doo" (I'm exaggerating but you get my point)
I find this funny in contrast to nowadays, where of those "golden" three, only Fangame is considered good.
I wanna be the Ultimatum is a horrible, terrible, no-good fangame with one or two good ideas but mostly horrible trap-filled platforming along with agonizing gimmicks done in the worst way possible.
Don't play it.
