This seems to be a demo, but with a moderate amount of content. It does seem to be labeled v1, but with demo obstacles everywhere and mentions of it, it does feel like this is a work in progress with a lot more potential to come. Difficulty seems quite variable depending on what you're going for, as I did not get all the stars and some of the challenges do seem a fair bit more challenging (and some are also secrets, so difficult to say what the requirements will be).
Its barely a fangame, but it is a pretty entertaining game. Besides featuring the kid and various other default assets, it doesn't play like a fangame - no platforming, only shmup type movement/enemies in a locked arena.
The production is mixed - the actual graphics/audio are basic but functional, but the UI is well done and understandable and doesn't cramp up the screen and it does seem to pick up over time, with some of the later encounters having a bit more flair.
The fights are varied and interesting, and its cool to have some bonus objectives to go for. The design plays into the abilities well, giving the player opportunities to capitalize on their skills and have interesting interactions throughout. However, a lot of the enemies do have a ton of hp and some of the fights drag on a while, as you'll likely be going through multiple cycles of everything per encounter.
Overall, its fun and its different - and those are the two core concepts as far as I'm concerned. I hope to see it continue to grow.
