This is an adventure game that has a lot of potential but unfortunately falls short of giving me any sense of actual enjoyment due to the bosses.
Making every boss serve as a pattern is boring and tedious and removes the actual fight aspect in my eyes, the second boss in particular seems like such a slog to get through that I dropped the game on it. I think this aspect makes them feel less action-packed unlike stuff like Timemachine 2 or Justice Guy and would be a lot better if they actually felt more like fights instead of avoidances. Outside of this, I thought the platforming of the first stage was pretty good, but the second dipped in quality due to the over-usage of the pushers.
Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend this unless you like bosses that are mostly pattern-based and learny.

todos mis sueños, anhelos, mis ganas de seguir adelante y cruzar nuevas fronteras han sido machacados, maltratados, ultrajados, aniquilados por incontables situaciones de mala suerte y trágicas decisiones que me hicieron quedar como lo peor, la escoria, una ameba del universo
ahora estoy apunto de tirarme del puente queriendo olvidar todos los traumas que algo llamado chance tiiempo ha causado en mi interior
he llorado, lamentado, melancoleado, padecido, soñando una y otra vez con la misma desgracia, todos los días sin parar pero ya no voy más, este es mi fin
adios al trailer de start a party, todo lo que he recibido de parte de este es rechazo, discriminación, muerte y destrucción
ojalá que para la próxima sepas cómo manejar mejor la dirección de lo que estás creando porque no solo estás destruyendo un corazón, estás destruyendo a alguien que quería ser feliz, que quería crear una familia... arrepientete de todo lo que has hecho
ahora antes de despedirme tengo que mostrar mi más terrible ansiedad por cierto personaje que está aprovechando de cierto exploid que está causando que la experiencia del juego no sea tan satisfactoria como debería, a pesar de que nunca estaré satisfecho con algo en esta vida, las cosas que hizo reimu2020 han provocado que lo instatisfactorio se vuelva más insatisfactorio, lo alegre lo vuelva destrucción y la riqueza lo vuelve pobreza
reflexiona mucho en lo que te digo ya que yo puede que no sea la primera victima de esta tragedia que está causando este personaje
todo le sale bien, todo lo usa para su favor, todo lo ha conseguido y a pesar de ello sigue queriendo destruir alegreías como la mía

Very average adventure game with very tedious bosses, the adventure platforming is pretty basic, traps, simple gimmicks, the usual. It's fun but nothing worth talking about for more than a few sentences. The bosses on the other hand have completely lost the concept of pacing. They are so slow and repetitive, the green cherry and final boss are like sorta cool but still tiring to play after even just one death near the end. Ultimately these led to the negative rating, but it's far from terrible.

This review is based on any%, but I plan to get the true ending/100% one day so I'll update when that happens.
Scribble Notes is an absolutely fantastic game, I do like Carnival's other works but this one is in it's own league, at least out of what I've played. The sense of adventure is fantastic, there's a good number of stages and you obtain items and abilities throughout the game which makes the progress feel meaningful. You can even backtrack to old areas with your new powers to collect new stuff, further making this adventure game feel like a REAL adventure. It's like a blend between a traditional linear platformer and a metroidvania, with the progress of the latter and moment to moment gameplay of the former. This game has a sort of puzzle element to it, which is very satisfying to play around and understand the little interactions between your items and the world. It's just great, and there's the occasional trap which I didn't mind, especially since I feel as if Carnival has good comedic timing when it comes to traps. Overall this game is fantastic, and I'd say it's a must play.
