It was mostly an enjoyable experience, but very challenging.
BGM from 64 to 69 is really great.
Floor 74 is where the game started to get really hard for me.
Floor 76 to floor 78 is a huge step up in difficulty, mainly the first save of 78.
Floor 80 is notorious and is one of the hardest saves in the game. Luckily I had no tragic chokes on it.
Floor 92 is awful. It's just awful. Playing floor 92 is the fangame equivalent of Chinese water torture.
Floor 95-96 were really fun. The saves had consistent difficulty balance and the jumps were satisfying to perform.
Floor 100 is hard, but nowhere close to 92 or even 80.

Very fun and original 3D game that use all the basic gimmicks such as platforms, water and vines. It's thanksfully not too long because it was seriously triggering my motion sickness.

Those are my times and deaths for I Wanna Be The Guy Remastered.
I Wanna Be The Guy Remastered is a remastering of the original I Wanna Be The Guy.
It fixes some bugs and adds a few other things but is otherwise the same game.
There's a lot I like about IWBTG. Like the platforming and funny traps. I once heard somewhere that Kayin wanted this game to be more funny than actually difficult. I think he succeeded personally.
This is a goofy parody of NES-hard video games like Mega Man, Battletoads, and other infamously difficult games. (Almost) every trap in this game is used for comedy rather than difficulty.
The platforming itself is pretty fun and doesn't get repetitive.
But there's one major flaw in this game that almost ruins it.
THE BOSSES.
There are only three bosses I liked. That being Mecha Birdo, Dragon Devil, and The Guy.
the rest are either boring and easy (like Mike Tyson, Kraidgeif, and Dracula) or tedious and frustrating (like Bowser)
But then there's one boss that goes too far.
One boss which fucks everything up.
Mother Brain.
Easily the worst part of the game. It's such a difficulty spike compared to the rest of the game. It's probably the worst boss in a game that I think I've ever played. Fuck this boss.
But aside from that, This game is excellent!
it's sad to see that what people took from this game was its difficulty which lead to copy-and-paste needle jump epic 2 frame 360 420 jump bullet hell fangames instead of balanced and enjoyable to play ones.
There's also a mindset of people hating this game for being "shit" compared to other fangames
I'll always see this game as separate from the fangame community simply because most fangames nowadays aren't actually fangames of iwbtg. They mostly use assets from it.
I dunno how to end this review so uh i liek dis gem and kayin is pretty cool B)
