For: I wanna be the Hero - Again
An adventure fangame heavily inspired by Kill the Guy. It features floatier physics, so be aware of that if you're a physics purist.
Overall its quite solid. Production is good throughout, though the menu/loading times are kind of tedious in weird ways. Visuals are good and music is fitting in that style. It has a good balance of effects to amplify the game without feeling excessive or distracting.
Platforming wise, stages are distinguished by their gimmicks. Nothing new is really brought to the table here but the classic gimmicks it uses it tends to do fairly well with a single exception. Gravity flippers are present throughout the game and they oscillate heavily, and there are a number of jumps that become impossible if you hit them at the wrong point in their oscillation which tends to be more annoying than interesting.
The bosses are where the game is hurt for me. They're not bad, inherently, and have good production and keep the player engaged. The problem is they have that old-school design philosophy where its just kind of a string of pattern attacks with no tells, many of which will gib you and require a fair bit of learning which is a bit tedious to get through. Most of them are not that long or hard, so its not that bad but it certainly was a downer and a weak point in the game for me. The bosses are inspired by classic games that have nothing to do with the stages they're in, and its not a problem thematically, but if you like seeing classic video game characters reimagined, you may get a kick out of some of these.
Overall it is good and it is worth playing. I'd play KTG first for sure, but if you like that and want more, this should be right up your alley - its a well made adventure that has aged well enough and has plenty to offer.

Rating based on medium difficulty (Which, oddly enough, shows "hard" at the top of the screen).
Pretty enjoyable needle game. It's pretty long, consisting of 7 stages with about 10 screens each (I didn't really count, I'm just estimating). Gameplay-wise, it features a handful of interesting jumps, and some nice screen layouts. Production-wise, the visuals are really pretty, the musics are nice the death sound is very pleasant. Unfortunately, this game's musics tend to randomly glitch out, which means that certain stages' songs won't play for some players. It's not always the same stage (For example, for me, it happened in stages 1, 4 and 5) either, and the music files are there, so I'm pretty sure it's just a strange bug. Another thing to mention is the strange difficulty balance. Stage 1's difficulty is nearly non-existent, then stage 2 is some 20-30 difficulty needle, then stage 3 takes a huge leap, featuring 50-65 difficulty saves (Not many, but some). Oddly enough, the rest of the stages don't up the difficulty by that much.
Side note: Last save is adorable.
Anyway, this is a pretty good needle to sink a little time into, despite the glitchy audio. Would recommend.

I'm glad I found this game. Although as others have said, as the game progresses it becomes more difficult :p
