The platforming is mostly just... No. Once you get to the VVVVVV stage though, the game becomes amazing.
The bosses are the definitive peak of this entire game; all of them are very great. Especially the last 2 ones blew my mind. It starts out bad but later on you'll realize that this is not a generic fangame.

I'm not really fond of the platforming, it has way too many generic traps, to the point where they ruin everything that could be good in the platforming, and the platforming itself is also tedious at some points. Sonic's stage (The one whose boss is Luigi, for some reason) and VVVVVV's stage are the only ones that are somewhat good (Some saves are still tedious, but at least there are decent saves at these).
At the beginning, there are two paths, each of them split into two parts, and each part has a boss. The first part has generic visuals, an the second part is themed after an old game. The boss of the first part acts like a mini-boss (There are no special effects at the beginning of the fight, their names aren't mentioned and they are really simple), and I didn't find any of the mini-bosses to be anything special. The true bosses, however, are quite well-made. Once you beat both paths, the game becomes linear, and you won't see mini-bosses anymore. There are still three bosses, though, all of them really good. One of them is a fight against Viridian and Vermillion, probably their patterns are probably the hardest patterns to learn in the game. The other one is my favorite, a mix of Device's Miku with Luigi, bringing lots of crazy effects, and it's just really good overall. The last one is your last showdown against Luigi, now Ultimate Luigi, combining powers from all the previous bosses (Aside from Device's Miku).
The platforming drags the game down a lot, but it might be worth playing for the bosses, since some of them are quite unique. Would still recommend.

Amazing classic fangame for those who are willing to dive in deeper into this beautiful community and it's many games :)
I'm really happy that I tried it out - it really is something more than a generic, old fangame
