When I first started this game I was disappointed in the level design and the restart music as well as the first 2 bosses but afterwards the game started to get better both with music, bosses and level design. I can say that this game started to shine with the other 3 bosses. I don't count the balloon kid as a boss. In the final area there is a precise jump that really ruined the game for me though. No save after making it to have to start over there. You all know where I am talking about. Other than that the game itself is good. (I'd rate it an 8. But unless I pass that precise jump spot I am rating it a 0 out of sheer disappointment until passed.)
Update: After deleting the game and re-downloading it again. I was able to do that precise jump enough times to finally get through the area. Still a rough spot but the rest of the game went pretty smooth. I guess I needed to back off and come back to the game.

Forehead has a lot of Kefey's classic fangame elements mixed amongst a series of stages and bosses. There's the good old Yume Nikki references, restarting music and an abundance of traps to keep you entertained with. Having played Forehead 2 before this, it's hard not to compare the two and see the downsides this has in comparison, with the sequel feeling much more polished and well thought out. Despite that, Forehead has a fair share of good points that make it well worth playing.
The bosses are quite varied and interesting, and each felt completely different from the last. Special mention to the final boss which does a great job of pulling everything in the game together for a finale, although the arena size was frustrating on a couple of occasions despite being interesting. The black & white stage boss whilst also being fun had a couple of sore spots that stuck out in difficulty which make it a bit learny initially. The Destination-esque boss was also pretty fun if not incredibly tanky.
I didn't find the platforming much to write home about. It's generally quite basic platforming with a fair share of traps, some of which got a little tedious but if you're playing a Kefey game then it's a good idea to assume nothing is safe. I did quite like the painting screens early-on, despite the maze-sort-of layout one being a bit tricky to get the hang of at first.
All in all it's a fairly fun little trap-heavy adventure. Worth a play, although Kefey's improvement of design definitely shows in his later games.

The start of this game really did not impress me. The first few stages are not good, but it pretty much consistently improves from there until you end up with a pretty great final boss, so it's worth sticking with.

Honestly, this game would be so much better if it didn't have the bosses in it. I can see where the author is coming from, but most of the ideas seem to have been implemented in ways that are designed to be obnoxious. Most of the platforming was good, but the bosses have ranged from below average to some of the worst bosses I have played in any game. The destination boss is probably the worst boss fight I have ever played and is what caused me to quit. I think that the game maker needs to improve on his boss making skills, or, possibly just not make bosses at all.
