Heya, we updated the game. The purpose of this update was initially to make the game a little smoother to speedrun but none of the changes me and Zero have done alters the game in a way we think is detrimental to the experience for anyone, thus we decided this should be the official version and public for everyone.
I won't go over all the changes, noteworthy ones include: new character, slight boss changes, new sprites (in a few places), an option to turn off the respawn fade effect, skipable credits, less dishwashing, platforming improvements throughout (primarily in the second half) and bug fixes.

I have mixed thoughts on this game. The needle has a lot of variance in quality, some saves are pretty good, some are pretty annoying, most are kinda forgettable. There's definitely highlights like I said and there's definitely a decent amount to enjoy, but some things were just not for me, which was sad because I like most needle. The final boss I hated, I don't think it's bad but it's mega annoying with tons of mechanics which are frustrating, plus the ending can feel a bit luck based. The highlight was the last 10 floors of needle, each one was pretty awesome, but I think even with those I left this game feeling slightly negatively towards it.
Edit: I came back to this game a year and a half after my first clear and enjoyed it quite a bit more, I still have gripes with the game and I think there's a lot of annoying bits, but I generally found it more pleasant on average. The boss in particular I liked way more, it's definitely not luck based like I was saying before, I still don't love how the Fire/Ice section is way harder than the early parts but it was pretty enjoyable this time. Overall far from my favorite needle game but I'm happy I've slightly come around to this game.

For most people, this game is a huge mixed bag, but for some reason, I just can't find anything negative to say about it. Maybe I'm blind, or perhaps my perspective is colored by nostalgia, since this game holds a special place as my introduction to the Legend tier in the Adventure FSR, but the thing is: I enjoyed playing this game from the beginning to the very end, and never did I get disappointed about anything. Crimson Needle 2 is such a good game that it's one of the exceedingly rare fangames I actually decided to rebeat, in the hope of finding the emotions it gave me one year ago.

Everyone who's reviewed this game with a positive review has said everything I can possible think of saying in this review, so I will just give my personal thoughts on the game, as opposed to saying what is good about it.
Also this is based purely on the platforming. I'm playing the boss now, but I have no idea if I'll even finish it.
I went into this game a needle player who was in over her head. I really wanted to try floor 100, but I wanted to earn the right to try it. I started playing this game some time last year I believe, probably about mid-2018, maybe a bit earlier. As of an hour or so ago, I finally completed my goal of finishing all of the platforming in the game.
I didn't really expect to like this game very much. For about 25% of this game I thought I'd feel it deserved a 6 rating or something, but as is apparent by my review, my opinion swayed relatively quickly. This game is fantastic, and deserves all the praise it has received, but I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that.
This is one of the highest quality needle games available. If you can handle the difficulty, play it. If you can't, chip away at it. I didn't think I could do it, but here I am now. This is a fantastic game to play if you want to see improvement. Don't let yourself get discouraged by walls/roadblocks. There were multiple times I thought "I'm reaching the point where this is too difficult for me." But I powered through, and it is one of the most satisfying achievements I've accomplished in video games. To me, that is the beauty of Crimson Needle 2.
Needless to say, I am very much looking forward to June 7th.
