This is one of those games where the platforming is perfectly serviceable, but you really play it for the bosses. There's some really fun and visually appealing stuff here. Definitely worth a play.

Jump the Shark follows suit upon the first game in the series, with it being an adventure game built into three stages with coins (secrets) scattered throughout. This is an improvement in many ways upon the first as the amount of coins are reduced and designed more interestingly, the overall level design feels much more polished both visually and gameplay-wise, and the bosses are a personal highlight overall especially towards the end.

Small downsides that I found were things such as the difficulty of some saves, where some jumps felt a little too precise to pull off given their position in the game. Granted most of these situations were in secrets, which explains the choice. There were only a few parts of needle that I didn't really like, such as the final coin in stage 3, but the goods outweighed the bad by far. Stage 2 is also heavily based around conveyors which isn't everybody's cup of tea, but I personally liked it.

The bosses deserve special mention. Each is interesting and fun with something new to learn, although I'd say the quality definitely increases as the game goes on with it ending on the best bosses, including a very visually impressive avoidance. Worth noting that the endgame can only be accessed by collecting all coins, which is tracked by a counter above the stage doors. This makes tracking down any missed secrets fairly easy.

Overall, Jump the Shark 2 is a very solid adventure game that's a huge quality increase from the first. For full enjoyment, I recommend collecting all the coins to experience the very impressive endgame content.

Ratings include extra and true ending.

So this is Shark's second instalment of his "jump the" series and this is miles better than the first one. The game revolves around a hub area, where there are 3 worlds, and in each of those worlds there are 2 levels and a boss. There are numerous coins in each world that are collectables and in much harder place to obtain then just going through the game without them.

The game itself looks really nice, some places look a bit simple, but its the simple that looks good, not just plain or boring. There is a gimmick of sorts in each stage which I will spoil for people who want to play it.

The final boss of the collectable floor is pretty annoying. Don't get me wrong, it look amazing and is fun to play, but some of the attacks, especially that damn laser just screws you so many times. Apart from that, the the final boss can be a bit grindy sure, but it is fun and worth doing.

Do I recommend this game? Of course I do, it is a fun game with a good collective system though I do warn you if you go for all the coins, the world you do to get to the final boss is much harder than anything else.
