This game is outstandingly well done. As soon as I saw this on steam, I purchased it. After playing it, I purchased a copy for a few friends of mine. I don't care much for the Race mode to be honest, considering there aren't any boss fights, items, or lives (hope that becomes a thing).

The solo experience is what really did it for me. You have 100 Lives to complete the game. You can purchase lives with coins you get at little machines that pop up every once in a few stages (if you're lucky), as well as power-ups and passive skills you can acquire. The boss fights are very well done, and if you've played Nemega's other fan game, you can see where some rooms and boss patterns came from.

The online mode is strictly just racing. I tend not to take this mode seriously when I'm with my friends however, as I enjoy watching and trying to help them pass through a room since they are still quite new to Fangames. I asked for information on if Co-op had been planned for this, and was told that while it is indeed planned, it is not a priority at this time.

Really looking forward to the progress this game will have! LOVE IT!

Consistently fun platforming... in the roguelike mode. Consistently fun and fair bosses... in the roguelike mode. Mix of fun and garbage in the Magic Tower mode. Online is cool. Don't like that there are two achievements tied to online because if the game's servers ever go down they will be forever unobtainable. Game feels like it has a WAY smaller chunk selection than advertised, being advertised as having 2000 and me feeling like I maybe only saw 100 or less after 50+ hours. There are also a lot of chunks that can show up across multiple worlds and difficulties, making things seem even more budget but overall the game offers a lot of fun and it looks and sounds nice. I recommend it I guess but it does feel like it probably only would appeal to a specific kind of person. I did get all the achievements btw. Pretty good if you're looking for a challenge and a game that could keep you occupied for quite some time. Medium Deathless and Magic Tower All Bosses No Hit were certainly journeys. No difficulty given because the game can be either a fairly low difficulty or absolutely nutty depending on what you decide to do in it. Also sorry if this review seems a little negative, don't get the wrong idea, it's a good game and probably one of my favorite fangames.

An excellent product overall. I appreciate the impressive amount of work that went into this not only from Nemega, but all the community contributors overall. Firstly, the obvious, it is a fangame with a cost on steam and it comprises essentially 3 modes/concepts.

The first is classic fangame style platforming with some roguelike elements. Stages are comprised from smaller segments and there's limited lives and a number of powerups to help you get through. This was probably my favorite mode in the game, though it can be quite short lived if you're not interested in being a completionist. The difficulty ranges from about 30-60 based on the selected difficulty, though achievement hunting can get a bit higher as some of the achievements are quite challenging. The mix-and-match nature of the levels makes no run feel the same, but you will start seeing level repeats so if that's the kind of thing that bothers you, tread carefully. Still, it offers a lot of content as you get through them and if you set goals other than winning (as you'll be able to get consistent at that quite quickly, generally), there's a lot to be had here.

The second is the race mode, which while rare to find games unfortunately, when the community gets together to do some its quite fun. There's a variety of difficulty options here as well to adjust the pace, with harder levels frequently tripping people up or easier levels that its all about going fast.

Finally, the last mode is the magic tower inspired mode. This was by far the weakest of the three for me but its still interesting. The difficulty of this is naturally much higher and cannot be adjusted, maybe about a 60-65 (Difficulty rating based on this, as its the hardest 'standard' content). It is, in magic tower style, with a limited total hp pool so you'll want to balance your ability to take hits, but some of the later enemies have some attacks that feel quite unfair and feels like a grind to some degree. The final achievement for this is quite difficult, and as such if you're an achievement hunter I'd be cautious about going for these, as its probably on par with a game more in the 80s range at that point.

All in all, this package offers a lot (as it should, as a paid game in a genre of freebies), but its worth it if any of the styles of game appeal to you.
