Game 3.

An "adventure" some would call this game, but be prepared for less platforming and more "bosses". I hope you enjoy, good luck and have fun!

It seems you are interested but still not sure, you should watch the trailer:

If you have any problems, that sucks!

Any feedback is nice, good or bad.

Full Techno Jackass is one of the best experiences I've had in fangames, enshrined by an amazing soundtrack and great gameplay. Before getting into the avoidances, which is of course the main feature, I do want to mention that the needle is highly enjoyable itself, and all the little gimmicks and twists on it really made for a fun time. It's also worth mentioning that the mixture of 16 pixel blocks with normal sized ones is an amazing aesthetic that I really wish people would try more of, it just looks and plays nice.

Now, I'm not someone who goes out their way to play avoidances, but I really loved the ones in this one. Outside of like 2, none of them are especially hard or long, they all feel like showcases and light shows more than they feel like challenges. And I like this, I think they show the best Randy has to offer in a format that especially suits the style. Not only that, but they also have their own little quirks and gimmicks to them in many occassions, you'll never know what's gonna happen next. At the end, you'll truly realize the maker's username absolutely represents what they make.

I also want to show a little appreciation as well to all the references, ranging from Kermit to Everhood, as well as the random encounters you may see from time to time. The secrets are also fun, so be on the lookout if you truly want to be an epic winner.

Highly Recommended for sure, Catjam away.

Full Techno Jackass is, as described in the creator review, an "adventure" game full of bosses. And what an adventure it is: The themes, music and visuals of what you're playing change at a breakneck pace, creating the oh-so-familiar sensations of anticipation of what comes next, the wonder in never knowing what's just around the corner, the novelty of the range of experiences on offer, that have been the centerpoint of titles such as I Want or Burnmind.

Unfortunately, there is a massive oversight in the attempt to create this feeling: The gameplay, or more specifically the avoidances. While a couple of avoidances do stand out a bit, they all feel extremely similar. The usage of the sphere bullets and the exact same trails in every single avoidance takes away much of their identity, leaving only the occasional easter eggs and the color scheme to try and make them feel unique; The widespread usage of some of the most generic RNG attacks - ones that require so little attention to read due to how easy the game is and how common they are - seals the deal. While some of these feature minigames with their own gameplay entirely detached from fangames, these are far too easy to be significantly memorable, and do not address the core problem. By the halfway mark, I knew I wasn't gonna get anything interesting out of the avoidances, and the game hasn't managed to prove me wrong.

Once the premise is broken, the illusion crafted by the themes and visuals begins to fade, and while they do remain interesting and unique in their own right, they no longer hold the same allure, and so what we're left with is the core gameplay. As for how it stands on its own, it is definitely quite enjoyable. The avoidances themselves are chill and for the most part sight-readable, making for a pretty smooth experience. While I feel like in many cases the songs are significantly more dynamic than the avoidance is, and a bit more could have been done, I can't say that the long barrage attacks detract from them. The needle is a tad cramped for my liking in a few places, and there are a couple stages with visibility issues, but other than that it's excellent: has a healthy mix of free-flowing and slightly more constrained gameplay, a good balance in input complexity, and frequently features light gimmicks where appropriate. Overall, when it comes to the gameplay, there's nothing to say except that I had a great time.

While I was disappointed with the execution of the main premise, especially since avoidances do make up the majority of the game's content, the content itself is definitely more than enjoyable enough to make me still like the game in the end. I don't know if I'll go out of my way to recommend it, however I'd definitely say you should give it a go if you're interested, provided you do not expect more than the game has to offer.

FTJ is a wacky "avoidanceventure" consisting of 2 hubs and various shenanigans before and after those. I enjoyed everything i played, though i do think the difficulty fluctuates a bit too much at times. Besides that though there isnt much too complain about.
Can recommend if you like easier avoidances and wacky stuff.

My old review was on the 0.93 version, where I was bad at avoidances and ranked every avoidance. But now that I got better and a final boss was added, I had to retry to see if my thought have changed. I take an appreciated with the gimmicks on the needle section being pretty creative and fun for how short they are. The avoidances are pretty cool with the short time you have with them and are pretty hilarious. After the last needle section, you have complete any%.

Extra: If you want a full completion, you need to collect the 4 kings with some pretty difficult needle. Once you collect them all, you get to face the final boss with a medley of all the avoidances you played throughout the journey. It's an amazing experience that feels like an epic conclusion to the wild world you went through.

To conclude, would recommend Randy's wacky world of breckcore.
