It is a perfectly fine, well designed needle game for beginners. It's so short that you can replay it multiple times to get the fewest deaths, which is always a great way to get better as beginner.

I could cry for how good this is
The only criticism I could possibly address is I wish there was more to the editor. I wish we had the possibility to make more than just levels, I'm not talking full size fangames within the game, but being able to make levels with many rooms, or a campaign system of multiple levels that's a little more elaborate than playlist would be awesome. In my opinion the editor heavily lacks a schmup-like bullet pattern maker, you can already make pretty much anything you want with the current tools but it would make bosses way more accessible to create.
Custom sprites is maybe what lacks the most, but obviously this would be a nightmare of moderation.
Obviously I'm conscious that all these points are technically impossible, just the fact that we have such a game on steam, for free is already beyond insane. I'm so glad this awesome community exist.

Pretty interesting barrage on easier side, made by あお (although you would not tell it immediately design wise). Has a lot of pattern attacks, mixed with RNG. I enjoyed this game a lot, which was a surprise to me. It has variety of different unique attacks, and does give also small challenge on reading skills as well.
I would say the only frustrating thing in blind playthrough were these 2 attacks before bouncing: https://youtu.be/h5vvHJp-y0o?t=71 . I just could not find good strategy and I was dying a lot. I got there in less than 10 minutes, and then spent another hour getting there, and then beaten rest of the game in 20 minute time span.
Still, the hardest part is near the end, since you have relatively high density barrage. But it is still very fair, and this is what I enjoyed a lot in this game.
You can also choose Hard difficulty if you go to the right on the loading screen, but I have no ideas what are differences in avoidance, if there are any at all.
Anyway, really good game. Would recommend if you have some spare hour to play!
Edit: I was told that there are some minor differences in gameplay in Hard, however, the main difference apparently is that in Hard mode you have to beat without jumping lol. If you do not know how to access Hard mode, here is a hint: Check carefully loading screen

very fun and simple/traditional neon needle game. despite being quite indistinguishable from all other games of its genre (as most are), it has its own place in the 'domain' of neon games. I suppose dotkid could still be considered traditional in neon games, as I've seen quite a few games use it
