This review is based on getting the "Better" ending, which simply involves doing the checkpointless final avoidance.
Domu is one of the most consistently high quality fangames I've ever played. Each stage bring something fresh to the table which helps enhance the game from "cycle needle" to dynamic and interesting platforming. Sometimes the platforming sorta feels like a mixture of needle and avoidance, and that is reinforced by the final avoidance. There's just so many fun saves here, and the game flows incredibly well. A lot of cycle based platforming has the issue of screeching to a halt while the player trials and errors timings and setups, but this game has none of that because it's just so intuitive to play, which feels great. The bosses are also pretty good, having fun engaging attacks even on the easier fights. The final avoidance is a masterpiece in my opinion, tying the whole game together, and the transition to the credits makes the ending that much more impactful and grandiose. If you absolutely had to squeeze one complaint out of me, there was ONE save in the cactus area I thought was tedious, but the complaints end there. Basically a perfect game for me.

Rating based on hard.
Poorly balanced platforming with excellent visuals and atmosphere. Would recommend playing on easy if you want to experience the game at its best.
