Difficulty rating is almost exclusively because of the second screen in the game. But also the physics make some of the following platforming pretty annoying too.

Three pattern-heavy but pretty fun avoidances. The game isn't finished, so there are many more warps stuck behind DEMO blocks.

This boss is iconic, having pretty visuals and cool shape patterns synced to the music. I think the presentation is very nice, but a big issue I have is that the RNG in this boss often feels like filler, and I find it really annoying for some parts.

So I'm just gonna talk about the avoidance here because the 2 screens of platforming are just alright gameplay wise with the worst visuals you've ever seen in your life. (They also only took me 2 min total)
In contrast, the avoidance is a visual treat and the gameplay is really fun. There's a lot of flashing though so if you're prone to that I recommend staying away. The difficulty of this game is kind of hard to rate, because personally I didn't find it to be that hard, but it took a while due to the sheer amount of finals I had. So to me it was just a game where I had to eventually get lucky on the final attack, and everything before that I didn't struggle with super hard honestly.
The patterns in the game are all really easy. There is one pattern where I had to make my own strat for though because everyone else's was too confusing, and I feel like my strat is way easier personally. I think the only pattern(?) I couldn't get consistently is the 3D part, I couldn't understand how to properly know if I was in the gap or not.
As for the RNG, it's surprisingly consistent too. Even the RNG before the line-flower thing that Blogger mentioned I was able to pass more frequently by just jumping just high enough for the ground bullets to not reach you, and reading the RNG that falls, you can get to the corner in time and survive some nasty RNG most of the time thanks to dot hitbox. My advice for the curving attack is to stay close to the corner and focus on dodging my moving vertically rather than horizontally. (This way, the wacky curving cherries will be above you, so they can no longer be a threat to you)
The main downside is that the game does have a weird bug where the volume gets all messed up sometimes. This bug is fixed in later games that use this engine at least.

Seven Trials is an infamous old needle collab, focusing on precision before the genre of "L-needle" had been developed. As such, it provides in interesting look into how that sort of thing was designed before there were genre standards and tropes. Unfortunately, interesting does not translate into enjoyable. I found many of the stages had some cool stuff, but there were a lot of generic jumps, and the hardest part of the game (Doruppi screen 2) felt overloaded with planes. In addition, there are multiple places where it's possible to get stuck with a bad align, forcing you to redo the stage if you didn't look ahead.
By far the worst part about the game is the saves. The game uses touch saves, which is already a horrible idea for a precision game. Worse, they are activated as soon as you respawn, while you're still touching it. This means that if you delay before jumping, the save with refresh and you'll get saved in midair and lose your position. Even worse, there is a bug where your save position seems to get nudged sometimes. After a few attempts at a jump, I would find my saved position to be several steps left or right of where I'd started, making it impossible to maintain a saved setup. It is hard to understate how horrible this save system it. Practically every hard save was made significantly more unpleasant because of it, and you constantly have to be finicking with your position. If the saves were changed to normal saves I would raise my rating by at least a point. It is incomprehensible that this feature made it into a game like this.
I should mention that one of the coolest parts of the game is the couple saves that use conveyor belts. Having some gimmicks present made the jumps a lot more interesting than the standard fare that filled up everywhere else. I wish this had been pushed further, perhaps later movements in precision needle would've taken inspiration and does similar experimental, gimmicky things.
Overall, I really can't recommend this outside of its historical value. There isn't much that stands out, and the hard content and horrible save system really drag down the game.

I was able to play very comfortably. That was very fun. Personally, Zangief, the dragon, and the final boss were tough for me.

Hey! This is the (finally) finished version of the Shortventure game I made for the 2023 Shortventure Event!
I'll ramble a bit later, but included are a "solutions.txt" file and a "Cryptogram Solver" spreadsheet which will make a lot more sense once you get playing. ;)
The theme of the event was "resources", and while the in-game tie-in to the theme was.. a bit of a stretch, I also took the opportunity to look at the theme from a more meta standpoint and, for the most part (aside from the music which I pulled from purple-planet), all of the game's non-default resources (audio, sprites, backgrounds, etc) are all done by me! :D
It's quite a departure from my normal stuff, but I'm really proud of how it turned out. I realize it may not be for everyone, but as long as some people enjoy it, that's fine by me.
