Vandal is a needle/gimmick game with some small adventure elements. I wanted to make something a little bigger than my previous solo projects, inspired by a few other releases and makers. I estimated it to be somewhere between 60-70 difficulty but on average I think it has ended up a little higher than planned.
I poured a lot of time into this over the last couple months and ended up with a platforming experience I'm pretty happy with, and I'd love to see other people enjoy it as well. Best of luck on becoming The Vandal!

I first played Vandal a few years ago and loved it. I decided to replay it recently, and that opinion stands. This really is one of the best needle games I've played. In terms of games focused on simple gimmicks, it may be the absolute best.
Vandal has a great sense of progression in the needle, starting off basic and introducing more and more interesting gimmicks over time, eventually mixing things together in a really satisfying way. However, it also knows when to throw out some curveballs, with interesting one off screens that are completely unique. The game constantly feels like a breath of fresh air, with each stage bringing something new.
I consider Vandal to be a perfect example of a "needleventure" game, even though it doesn't have any sort of bosses. This is due to the aforementioned progression, which is not just in the gameplay. The world of Vandal feels cohesive and interesting. There are NPCs, little break areas, and silly easter eggs. Unlike most floor games, it really feels like you are climbing this big tower. There is always a sense of exploration, making this more of an adventure than many games with bosses.
Overall, Vandal is a must play fangame. Despite the difficulty being pretty high, I do consider this somewhat approachable. For that reason, I would absolutely suggest playing this to anyone with a moderate amount of needle experience.
