Vandal is a needle/gimmick game with some small adventure elements. I wanted to make something a little bigger than my previous solo projects, inspired by a few other releases and makers. I estimated it to be somewhere between 60-70 difficulty but on average I think it has ended up a little higher than planned.
I poured a lot of time into this over the last couple months and ended up with a platforming experience I'm pretty happy with, and I'd love to see other people enjoy it as well. Best of luck on becoming The Vandal!

Definitely wolfie's best game to date. It's a long one, having 50(ish) floors for you to jump around in, and a plethora of gimmicks and areas to keep you entertained. There's also a really neat theme where all the floors are connected into one big map. It takes a lot of inspiration from Crimson Needle 3, taking a lot of the gimmicks in that game and using them in some way or another, and some of the level design (especially near the end) definitely gave me CN3 vibes. It's definitely good at hooking you in, since I expected to only play it for a couple hours today but ended up finishing the whole thing. (took around 6.5 hours.) Really enjoyable and fun, and classic wolfie humour spread out around the game. It's a good time. My favourite unused jump is The Scamp

I Wanna Be The Vandal is an extremely well polished gimmick needle game, working as a fusion between Wolfie's own style and some distinct influences. It combines clean visuals with a varied soundtrack and while focusing almost exclusively on a traditional needle flow, occasionally interrupts it with charming interludes and a few zany antics.
While it is a needle game, it does add some nice touches to keep the constant feeling that there's a little more going on - which there is - through well connected room layouts and a lighthearted narrative, something more needle games should take to heart. The extra charm and personality definitely goes a long way in this game to keeping it engaging.
The production is very solid, visuals are clean the whole way through with very consistent tileset changes to keep it fresh and an occasional sprinkle of effects to brighten it up. The music is very varied and never lingers too, which means even if your pace through the game isn't good, you won't get bored of the aesthetics.
The platforming, of course, is the core of the game and its very good. There's hints of his old style combined current influences and it makes for a lot of varied stages. Every couple rooms feels like a change in style while maintaining some of the key components and it feels good to go through. There's not much to really add on it, Wolfi knows his needle. If there's any complaint, he may have legitimately used too many 16 or less pixel wall hugs. Difficulty wise, it starts pretty high but doesn't get much harder over the course of it.
Overall, its a top tier gimmick needle game in a comfortable, popular difficulty range with some bonus charm and a good chunk of content, and is worth playing for anyone who enjoys gimmick needle games and can handle the pretty hefty challenge. It really exemplifies the community progression in the innovation offered in this case by CN3 and refinement and adaptation applied to it afterwards.

As a certain detective would say,
Good~
Anyway let's get the possibly weird difficulty rating out of the way. As someone who was not familiar with 90% of the gimmicks used, this game was really hard. Especially a certain screen later on.
The needle is amazing, there are only two jumps in this game that are doozies. Jumps felt very satisfying to pull off and are very creative. Most of that creativity comes from the wacky gimmicks used. Straight up needle isn't here very much and that is a good thing cause there are so many cool gimmicks that make more interesting jumps. I don't really want to spoil them though :)
you will find plenty of good tilesets and music in this game. Especially the Umineko stuff. Don't have a single piece of music or tileset I dislike. Everything looked smooth.
I have really nothing to complain about and can recommend this game to pretty much any experienced player, as long as you don't mind vines and all the needle add-ons.
