about 30% of this game is saves that aren't fun to learn and execute while the rest is pretty good and hard hades-like needle with minimal requirement of tech knowledge. there are some 1fs and cancels but they aren't overused. overall works quite well and looks kinda nice too. if you're looking for a good hadeslike on the harder side, definitely play this one.

I really like a lot of things about this avoidance. In particular it's strongest aspect is the flow of the fight, the way that the patterns connect to each other, the movements you do, the way they go along to the song, not just attacks but the actual inputs you perform, it all feels incredibly satisfying to learn and go through. There's also tons of creativity, stuff like the mirror attacks which are a cool parallel to the song, the water attack, the transition to the underground bit, there's so many neat ideas and standout sections that really give the game a personal touch. Where it slightly falters for me is the RNG balance, a lot of attacks can give you some kinda terrible situations, particularly stuff like the section before chorus 2, the end of chorus 2, and chorus 3. Most of the RNG attacks aren't that bad but the ones that are can sometimes bottleneck you from getting good attempts at an otherwise very consistent avoidance, which was easily the most frustrating part of the game. It doesn't help that the last two attacks are pretty ridiculous, final is just so much harder than the rest of the avoidance which can get a little exhausting if you die a lot. Still though it's mostly a fun time, I just wish certain attacks were maybe tamed a bit, mostly just to make them more fair.

I wanna be the Crimson is an absolute classic, it's really easy to see why some people love it so much. Obviously it has some quirks and shows its age at some points, but the vast majority of the game is fun with some creative ideas. I think the best example of this would be the top left warp, as it has a really cool idea with the secret and interesting platforming all the way through.
The main reason I didn't rate this game any higher is because of a few stages and one boss. The zelda area is a lot harder than the others and feels a bit out of place, the medley stage is a mixed bag, and the last area is just kind of bad, besides like 2 saves. The next thing I don't like about the game is the bat boss. Where do I even begin with that thing? The concept is great but you have little control over the bombs and can get screwed over by rng very easily, especially around the end of the fight, which loses you a few minutes of your time. The only good thing about that boss is the music.
Thankfully, the final boss ends the game on a high note, being iconic, interesting, challenging, and a great time. The music is awesome, the 4 demons are very charming with so much personality, despite their simple designs. It amazes me that the final boss and the bat are from the same game, the difference in quality is insane.
No matter how janky this game might be with the restarting music, shitty engine, and the 9 quadrillion traps in every save, it's absolutely incredible for what it is. I don't think many newer players will appreciate it as much as I did, but if you go into this game expecting a 2011 fangame and not an absolute masterpiece, you'll come out having mostly good things to say about it. Go ahead and give the game a try if you haven't already, because who knows, you might be pleasantly surprised by it.

Halfway decent long save challenge, didn't bother with extra.
My biggest issue with this game is that the first real save is so much harder to get consistent at than anything else afterwards. My initial training difficulty run had me on it for about 80% of my total playtime, and about 95% of my overall deaths on normal difficulty were on the first screen. I find that for flow needle, some of the individual jumps are slightly too tight for their own good, particularly in the fulljump department. I also find that occasionally the contour of the jump is so open that it becomes easier to just do it wrong without understanding why. As the game goes on it does get more lenient and more enjoyable, but the first half of the game is hard to stomach a lot of the time.
