A Sublime-inspired adventure game by me.
I'm not as confident in this game as I was when I started making it but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless.

Everyday there is a new fangame added to delicious fruit though few strive to break the norm. I wanna be the EDGE can best be compared to the Van Gogh of fangames, hated for its time but revered in the future. As EDGE breaks what is standard for fangames many people try and fail to understand the true meaning behind it. "Hidden Mazes? Ear splitting sound design? BAH! I'm going to go back to my avoidance thank you very much." But for the few who stop and understand EDGE (Edgers) they learn the true meaning behind it, and how it is a critique of modern fangame design. As many have mentioned it is "impossible" to beat the game, but unlike those simpletons I see this as a metaphor. The impossibility at the end is referencing your struggles with previous fangames and how it can all seem impossible but really it isn't. EDGE shall one day be viewed by millions in an art gallery, mark my words.

While very short, the game is very adorable, the art style is super cute and it's got some fun gameplay even if it's mostly very simple platforming. For the short time it lasts, it's fun, and definitely a decently memorable experience.

Interesting game, it takes place in four different stages, each one having a mild sense of openness, although they are linear and you are told where to go. There's a few cool things and neat bosses, but the game definitely lacks stuff which would make it really stand out, it's just a cute little adventure game that's pretty fun, and that can be appreciated in it's own right.

5 stage adventure game inspired by I wanna be the Sublime. It uses similar sound effects, aesthetics, and the bosses have no i-frames (there's also issues with slowdown but I can't tell if that's an intentional homage to Sublime or not). Besides those things, it feels completely different: it's linear, the stages are much shorter and easier, the bosses are (mostly) easier, it has way less old fangame jank, and it's actually a finished game.
The platforming is pretty decent despite its briefness, the gravity walls and ceilings were used well and are a nice look at a Sublime gimmick done right. The clown stage was mostly awesome but it was not obvious that the bodies of the juggling clowns do not kill which made one of the saves harder than it needed to be. The first boss and the final boss are pretty solid bosses that I don't take any major issues with, they have good attack variety and their patterns are not hard to learn and react to. The second boss would be OK (if a bit easy) if he wasn't so annoying to hit on his third phase. The third boss involves standing in one safe spot for most of the attacks while dodging the few RNG/aimed ones that come for you and hoping you don't get walled. The fourth boss is a gamemaker tutorial pacman themed boss and it is significantly more difficult than anything else in the game. Completing it takes pretty long and there's a lot of luck involved with enemies and power-ups. The game has secrets but I did not do any, I found one that involved doing hard needle with visual challenge and noped outta there.
Overall, this is a decent game with some issues and I would recommend at least trying it out for yourself.
