Some fun needle that doesn't rely too heavily on named jumps. Played on medium which has some extra wuss saves, that are appreciated, because playing at higher difficulties would have been a pain. The screenwrap gimmick is pretty nice, and made the game look and feel a lot more interesting.

However beyond that it's very mediocre. It's really short and there's no real feeling of progression, because it doesn't really increase in difficulty, and every screen feels the same. It's pretty dull to look at, and it doesn't support fullscreen or key-rebinding, which should be common place in fangames by now. It has a really anticlimatic ending, with one of the thank you for playing end screens. The music is also way too loud and doesn't really fit.

It's some serviceable level design and some nice, but very simple gimmicks. That's also all that is here.

Back in the days the game was kind of Revolution, which caused many people get involved into the fan games, community and stuff. Best production value, music, original concept gave at the time a deserved popularity.
Then K3 has been released and then every kid (it's about psychological age, but not biological) starts to attemting to create their own game, literally and directly coping the original with it's advantages and disadvantages. So now we got a pure example of this untalented expluatation of the Kamilia title, "game" with negligible and barely noticeable differences, fixing minor bugs, which most ppl wouldn't notice. Another clumsy attemt of lucre by using Infucca ideas, but now it's most flagrant and glaring.
Here we go about negative selection now. People care about this, because commubity heat up interest about this, with this... Lolrunning, ugh... Gustav has left, and Influcca, I Wanna Find My Destiny 2 got cancelled year or two ago. So now only MattyJ not leaving. Yet. (Thx, btw) How long he would create a really good, talented and original content without deserved feedback, recognition and popularity here?
I wouldn't rate this "remake" stuff, because DF.com doesn't allow me to set a negative number of ranting (left than zero). So there is positive review for original game, which really was the best when it came out.

This game only has 3 areas, a red area, an ice area and a black and white area. Upon spawning in the rd area, (the wrap takes you to the 3 areas at random), you find the screen empty and you have to go looking around for an invisible trigger. I don't even remember where it was, I just remember spending like three or four minutes looking for it. Although once you find it, you find a wrap that takes you to the actual area and it is just needle. Nothing too challenging, and if there is a challenging segment in a save it is usually in the beginning so it at least makes up for it in that. I don't remember if there was traps in the red area either so it was just pure needle. The boss for it was honestly a joke.

The ice area is easily the worst of the three areas, not because of the ice physics but because of all the traps. There so many in saves that it honestly feels unbalanced at time with one save being way easier than the one before it. Not to mention the boss is very RNG Heavy. I got this area last and if didn't know that it was the only boss I had left, I would have trashed the game because this boss was the worst.

The black and white area however was honestly the best. Good needle, not many traps and good music. There was one screen that I didn't like in the area but it thankfully wasn't too long. Not to mention that at the end of this area you get an avoidance instead of a shooting boss. The avoidance itself was fun, well programmed and no real instant death attacks. There one but it is very early in the boss and easy to figure out. Honestly if you want to get better at avoidances I would recommend trying this boss because it is rather enjoyable.

Overall, the game would have been well but the ice area needed to be fixed. The maker tested the game himself and if there was one thing I wish he changed... it was the ice boss because it was way to rng heavy. Otherwise it would be a pretty good game.

Disclaimer: This review/rating based on all-clear except I was given a save to skip boss rush once reaching it. The majority of the difficulty in this game is in the final stretch and a new player considering this game can get quite a lot out of it without difficulty being a problem.

This game is aptly named. It's classic fangame in every way and to some extent I would say the fangamiest fangame ever.

That admittedly sounds like gibberish, which is fair, but in many ways this game really exemplifies many of the fangame tropes in most extreme way. The production quality is, primarily, garbage. And yet, all of a sudden that changes and it becomes over-the-top excessive and then rounds itself out. It has enough bugs and technical problems abound, with a sound system implemented in a roundabout way that randomly ceases function and has all kinds of bad interactions. It has random lag and some stages have annoying to major bugs. There's flyingspike traps everywhere and over half the game is default tiles. Counter to that though, it has an impressive feature set, an amazing amount of content and variety and probably most of all, a type of twisted charm.

Truly there is so much good and bad in this game that its hard to really detail, and it makes it difficult to provide a review to give a prospective player an idea whether or not they would want to play the game. Fortunately Classic makes it quite reasonable for the player to choose for themselves, so if you see something interesting in this game, give it a try. The stage layout is in a complicated non-linear hub and can be done in any order (post the intro stages, which are interesting and easy) and they can be abandoned at any time by pressing the W key to warp out at a save. I know some people recommend using this to play the stages you like and not worrying about clearing the game, which is good advice, but I'd also add that its worth trying the other stages as I found myself liking ones I thought I wouldn't and disliking ones I thought I would. I'd warn that if you start disliking a stage and don't care for completion to bail on it, stages generally don't change in style and concept along the way, so if you don't like the start you probably won't like the end. I don't recommend going into this game blind.

The bosses are all interesting, there isn't really a normal boss in the bunch and they all feature interesting ideas and mechanics. That said, they also don't really feature much good gameplay either (which is why I ended up not wanting to do boss rush), so don't feel like you're missing out on them if you do decide to bail on a stage.

Overall, this is an exceptional game - one of the most exceptional games in a pretty exclusive category that I would only put a tiny fraction of fangames - a category where its not about how good or bad they are but ones that are that ambitious and noteworthy. It doesn't follow a template, it unapologetically does its own thing the whole way through. I'd recommend to nearly anyone to give it a try but I'd recommend this most to someone considering making their own huge game (most relevant to those considering an adventure/medley game.) - there are so many good ideas to consider and so many lessons to be learned and mistakes to be avoided in this game that your prospective project will improve a lot just by observing this game.
