A very good and, more importantly, very playable game. The faithful recreations of every game featured are far and wide the shining aspect of the experience. Some challenges err on the annoying side, but most cases are forgivable. Also has a lot of interesting challenges and replay value! A must-play.

i wanna be the guy: the movie: the two

genuinely probably one of the best fangames ever made. super well designed, just the perfect amount of difficulty, and a love letter to several games, including IWBTG itself and several other fangames.

What an absolutely fantastic game! It's borderline unbelievable what the devs were able to achieve in GAMEMAKER! The attention to detail in every single aspect of every single game featured is just phenomenal!

The only tiny little thing I think is imperfect about the entire game is in the "six dips" or whatever the level is called. The ball has to be controlled in such a way that feels a little different than actual Monkey Ball, which led to an embarrassing amount of deaths to that level. If there were a way to force the player to realize that tilting the stage actually still accelerates the player even while not on the ground then this would remove this minor gripe. This game is quite literally flawless at every moment other than that tiny itty-bitty little complaint.

This game is absolutely incredible, there's a criticism this game sometimes receives that it doesn't feel much like an IWBTG fangame, but I absolutely disagree. The game feels like it blends the mechanics of the games it's based on with the fundamental fangame movement, and it definitely feels closer to IWBTG than the games it's based on. The level design is amazing, and there's lots of great references and jokes that are a delight to see, and give the game lots of personality. It's really hard to articulate just how impressive and amazing and varied this game is, it takes the original formula Run The Marathon started and perfects it, and makes one of the absolute best fangame experiences out there. If you were like me and somehow hadn't played it, yet, it's never too late to start.

Words can't describe how much production value this game has. Every stage is blow imagination in that terms. This is definitely the greatest thing about fifth marathon adventure - it's just almost not fangame anymore, but solid game at this point. I also like plot here, it was delivered very well, and how this game basically is sequel of original Guy - ambitious, but man it was worth it; i applause to makers for their bravery and soul they invested in this game

Unfortunately, there were some downsides. Gameplay in many stages was kinda lacking of interesting things. I really don't like that i need to say it, but i just didn't have fun in some places of the game at all. I guess i just need describe every stage, as i used to at this point

Goemon - while nothing really bad happens here, nothing really great to say as well. This stage full of awkward platforming filling with some strange enemies and very primitive usage of cart (triple jump) gimmick. I kinda like vibe of this stage tho. Also this stage introduces ZOOM, which will be quite curse for almost entire game (yeah, i hater of zoomed fangames). Boss was dumb, but alright

Wario - by far worst stage in the game. Strange gimmicks, that are just not really works for me, quite boring and awkward level-design with meh enemies. Probably the only interesting thing here was Wario trap at the end. Boss was actually terrible, very slow-paced and unfun in general. Backtrack part was okay, but it was slighly too heavy on trial and error, which was not great. Overall, unenjoyable

Klonoa - things starting get better here. Instead of irritating zoom here will be pleasant 3D world filled with some creatures, that can be used to clean your way and also to get additional jump. I actually had fun with this stage, even tho it was still kinda primitive overall. I do kinda hate final save, it was very hard compared to previous ones, which was unpleasantly surpising. Boss was good, slow pace here not really ruined it for me

PaRappa - okay, finally for some bangers. This is very very very catchy short stage based on some old rhythm game, that was carefully remaded here. You just simply can't not fall in love with this stage, it was very nice comedic change of pace after dragging first stages and i despite not dying here even once, actually enjoyed this way more than previous stages. I actually wish makers used things like this - short attractive fillers - more in their adventures

Sonic - back to zoom, but this time it will be quite fun. Good stage imo, enemies are way more interesting than in first three stages, cycles saves also pretty decent and overall vibe of this stage is on point. Also, omg, soundtrack of this stage is so fucking awesome. Final boss aka chase segment was not hard, which is really nice touch, because i didn't like long learny scrolling segments. Ending was cute, overall solid stage

Monkey Ball - oh boy, this will be far different than any platforming that you possible meet in fangames. It's implemented Monkey Ball thing, where you control bounce bubble Kid with only left and right, and you need to get through various obstacles. I can say, the gimmick works insanely well with fangames 1-life thing, and overall design of this stage is fucking top notch. Every single level is not like another one, they are all enjoyable on their kind, references are awesome, bonus rooms are hella fun, soundtrack is life. Actually great stuff, i love it

Gunstar - this was not like mind-blowingly great, but it was still fun. I really like every segments in this stage where you just rush through throng of enemies - idk, just hits me good for some reason. Dice Palace was quite meh tho, i didn't like how some encounters were like completely free, while others were just overwhelmingly hard. References are good tho. Boss was quite funny, even tho i think it can be more creative

And then comes final stage or should i say Backstage. Okay, seriously now, despite this being normal fangame in terms of mechanics, this stage fucking GOATED. Every single screen here was absolutely insanely cool. If i need to describe perfect adventure stage, this will be it. I can't say anything bad about it, it was just great journey. Traps are not annoying and delivers it right, variety is awesome and gameplay is fun - what can you wish over than that even?

Not only stage was that great, but the final boss - infamous Guy returns - was... okay, this was probably the best fangame boss i've ever encountered. And i didn't exaggerate this i think, i just feel like this is actually fucking closest thing as i imagine perfect adventure boss of this kind can be. With great amount of variety and interesting attacks, with actually tone of callbacks to fangames classic, with atmosphere of epic fight, with good final final segment - this was fantastic. It brings me really light emotions to think about this boss, and that's how i determinate masterpiece. Thank you, makers, for making this

And the ending was great conclusion after all

So yeah, i just had insane fun with this game. I wish it can be more interesting in first three stages and in Gunstar stage, but hey, i can't really complain excessively. I better just will say thank you, Cherry Treehouse team for one of the most unique and solid fangame adventure i will possible ever played. The borders of possible in fangames and plank of quality will never be the same, and that's what i really love about this
