This Fangame is very much "of its time." There is some clear LoveTrap inspiration, and by that I mean it takes multiple screens from the game, but it also feels less memorable. There were a few cool parts like one save with tough cherry timing, but not much of note outside of that. Bosses were inoffensive albeit pretty mash-heavy, and if you want the FULL EXPERIENCE, there are 8 hidden secret items that unlock an extra stage. This rating is only based on the base game since I don't expect anyone else to bother going for all secrets.
Probably wouldn't recommend.
Note: this game left in a dev key that enables god mode and infinite jump when you press "D". You can also play as Visual Studio 2008 Man if you press "F".

Review based on regular clear plus some of the side content. M2 is a long adventure game with a ton of platforming variety and a lot of creative ideas and some pretty stellar production value. It also has an immense amount of optional content which much of which I didn't do, including achievements, secret stages and secret bosses as well as an entire true end stage.
It has some really high highs but unfortunately some really low lows which, problematically, coincide with some of the longest and hardest sections in the game and are ultimately why I'm not going for true end at this time.
Production wise, as stated, its really good. Tons of cool effects to bring the stages alive, a fancy replay system, skins, bonus items, tons of achievements and a pretty solid level select all built into a fairly robust menu. Stages look great, though unfortunately I'd say the bosses did not receive the same love for the most part. The one drawback here, I'd say, is a lot of the songs run long and get quite repetitive after a while.
Platforming wise is probably where it does the best. There's a ton of gimmicks, with each stage having multiple substages with new gimmicks and multiple secrets - most of which also feature creative and different gimmicks. Lots of cool stuff, but unfortunately also a number of questionable gimmicks or ones poorly designed around. The upside being with the constant changeups that you won't generally be stuck with it for long.
The bosses are a mixed bag, they felt quite simplistic compared to the immense amount of variety and creativity put into the stages, though I still enjoyed a number of them. Unfortunately the ones I did not enjoy were really frustrating and due to the design meant that every boss kind of feels like it drags on - basically no boss can be killed within its cycle of attacks, and missing damage can drag fights on for quite some time. The most unfortunate part was after quite liking the first three phases of the final boss, the last phase was everything I dislike in a fight and kind of soured the entire segment for me, featuring a fruit-only avoidance locked to the bottom of the screen with a painful 10-15 second unskippable intro. It made the game really go out with a whimper.
Overall though, if you want an adventure game with a lot of platforming variety and don't mind some pretty rough bumps in the name of creativity, it has a ton to offer. I'd certainly recommend giving it a shot for those who do like adventure/variety games, but tread carefully and be cautious about committing to it. It doesn't hold up to the greatest fangames, but it has a lot of good parts and a lot to offer.

Decent needleventure game making tribute to Rukito's highly praised style. Personally, I'm not exactly huge on Rukito's games so I wasn't expecting to enjoy this too much, even with a lot of great needle games that have come out in recent years being heavily inspired by his works, such as PS and FE, but this wasn't anything like that. This game feels like it focus more on some factors commonly overlooked by makers who try to pay him hommage, which unfortunately for me they're some of the many turnoffs I have with his games, specially the older ones. Certain segments feel very redundant and repetitive, often with rather weird save balance/placement, unfitting music and visuals that, while clearly outside of the main focus of a Rukito-esque game, could've been improved in some ways, not only for the sake of contrast but also to make the stage stand out and become more memorable than just various recolors of the same tileset. As for the bosses, there aren't many in the game but the final one was enjoyable, I wish there were more things in the game like it.
The effort put in is still clear however and I'm sure many fans of Rukito's games would most likely enjoy this much more than I have, but I must say I expected a little more from a collab like this, and I hope to see these same makers make more games and improve on their respective styles, their previous works have shown as much potential as BHG but, likewise, still felt rough and unpolished.
