Patch 1.11 : https://www.mediafire.com/file/25exqmwuxzi8w1e/I_wanna_Eclipse_ver_1.11.zip/file
more framerate issues fixed since 1.1
Things to note:
make sure you don't just copy the exe since there's more stuff in the music folder (doesn't apply if you're just going from 1.1 to 1.11)
A boss intro is now skippable once beaten
Another boss intro can be shortened with S and the intro attack is now a bit less annoying hopefully
Final boss changes (not exactly nerfed, but hopefully less unfair)
Framerate should not drop anymore
other minor changes
I'm leaving the 1.02 link up if you prefer the old version of bosses (and if this is somehow broken)
Patch 1.02

One of the finest adventure games I've had the pleasure of playing.
It has it all: Fun platforming, great production value, funny traps, memorable bosses, and even Reveal Spoiler .
This is the best game from GayWizard for sure. He's been working on it for 3 years and it's finally out. Having played through and seen all the content, it was worth the wait.
You can see how much effort was put into this game just by looking at it. All of the sprites and backgrounds were hand-drawn by him and they actually look really good. Every area is distinct and really nice looking, and the music choices fit well.
The bosses in this game are some of the best bosses I've ever played in fangames. I had previously considered Reach the Moon to have the best selection of bosses in a single game, but this surpasses that bar. Every boss is well designed, fun, and satisfying to beat. One boss in particular has such a stunning reveal that it is impossible not to crack a smile when it first shows up. And the attention to detail on some of them is impeccable; having a boss's finger moving back and forth with an attack or a boss with precise joint movement, for example.
And of course, the design is on point. There is some really great use of gimmicks in the platforming and some of the most satisfying jumps and maneuvers I've ever seen in an adventure game. Yet it never feels like a needle game and it keeps consistently entertaining. And that's a very rare balance one can achieve in an adventure game.
This is an excellent fangame to close off the year with. Were it not for Crimson Needle 3, this would probably be my pick for game of the year, but it is not far behind. Amazing work.

The best fangame I have ever played. Everything is crafted with so much care and love, and is so incredibly fun, the tiny flaws it has can not detract at all from this absolute masterpiece. All the art is selfmade (and looks incredibly good, some bosses look outright professional), all the design flows so well, is constantly kept fresh and exciting, I have nothing negative to say about this game whatsoever. If you have a single bone in your body that enjoys adventure games, play this.

I don't really feel like structuring this review correctly so I'll just list off a bunch of stuff instead
The game looks fucking amazing, no questions asked the most beautiful fangame out there. So many animations and they're all gorgeous, the big bosses look stunning, tons of attention to small details, it's awesome.
Mixed feelings about the zoom in gimmick. It's used really well in the final stage (except one bit at the end of the final save) but it was really more annoying than anything else in the first stage it was used in.
I disliked pretty much every trap, none of them were really funny and just kinda felt like a kick in the nuts for no reason.
The secrets themselves are cool but I wish they weren't secrets? I didn't want to look for them so I just asked people, and I wish I would've had some of them from the start (Reveal Spoiler ). It would've added some more depth to the boss fights, or maybe even just more complexity and that's always fun.
Bosses themselves were also a big mixed bag, although I think it was mostly positive. They're some of the most beautiful elements in the game, but I ended up disliking a lot of their attacks, and some of them could really use checkpoints of some sort. Reveal Spoiler
I didn't particularly enjoy most of the gimmicks but they weren't really lacking either, just a boring department overall I guess. A lot of them felt like some sort of variation of springs and I had a bad time with those, could never get the jump from them that I wanted.
There's also a fair amount of minor complaints I could think of, but nothing noteworthy enough to change my score. The amount of time put into this game really shows visually, I guess I just don't agree with a good amount of the design decisions. Will be looking forward to Gaywiz's next game.

A nice game with extraordinary amounts of polish.
It can't really be understated the amount of hard work that clearly went into this game. It's already known that GayWiz took several leaps that most would consider unreasonable or unneeded for a fangame in order to give the game the freshest coat of paint you could find. The game just for that reason alone is pretty commendable.
I find, however, that the gameplay never really goes beyond 'kind of enjoyable, I guess'. I played this on release and after playing through a couple stages, I turned it off and never turned it back on again until recently. It's not because the game was bad, but it's honestly so easy and 'accessible' that I find the gameplay lacks any real personality. The gimmicks aren't bad but aren't pushed and just feel like a lot of different ways to make traveling feel different without changing gameplay much.
This is a similar feeling I get with a lot of highly polished adventure games from the western sphere; Endless amounts of effort into aesthetics to polish an average game. This isn't a game I can really see myself going back to or replaying, and even sitting here typing this I couldn't really tell you any memorable screen of platforming. My time playing this ended up being a 5 hour long journey of 'It isn't bad, I guess.' Nothing annoyed me or I found unfun, but at the end of the day, I think it's a game that has a lot of form but no substance.
I did quite enjoy the final boss though.

Eclipse for me is one of the most inspirational fangames in recent memory, with the incredibly high effort Gaywiz put in throughout. You've got the sheer volume of original art in this game (like 95% of it?) which has charmingly drawn boss sprites and quirky little monsters roaming the stages, to the varied stage design and wacky little story strung around the place, and even some original music pieces which stick out as very memorable such as the final boss. I struggle to think of many other fangames with the same level of solo effort and creativity as this, and it all ties together for a really fun adventure experience.
The game follows a nice flow between stages and bosses, usually utilizing any given stage theme for a fair length before swiftly moving on. The stages never get old or feel drawn out, and whilst it might've been nice in some cases to see some stages more elaborated on (the Wizard Castle in particular was a favourite that felt like it could've lasted slightly longer), the general flow and design feels solid from start to finish. There's even a sprinkling of traps throughout, all of which I felt were pretty amusing and didn't detract from the gameplay or get frustrating. Also a shoutout goes to the Buble Bath, a once-in-a-lifetime fangame experience.
Bosses are often the meat of any adventure game, and this is no exception. As mentioned earlier, every boss sprite is completely hand-drawn and they ooze a lot of charm because of it. To go into some more specific spoilers, the Archmage boss/avoidance has an amazing reveal transition that just feels so slick the first time you see it, and it's accompanied with some very charming attacks and even mini-game-esque elements. The final boss has some really cool multi-tasking stuff going on that gets you into a good back-and-forth rhythm. It also features a very rarely seen but clever usage of audio telegraphing, making a particular sound effect play in reverse when the spike trails comes from the opposite direction. Small touches like this go a long way in making a boss memorable, and I thought this particular example was just really cool. I did have some initial gripes with the Archmage intro, although Gaywiz has since patched this to be skippable after passing it once, alongside some improvements on the Robot boss which make the fight feel a lot smoother and less frustrating in terms of missing the boxes. Overall though the boss variety is stellar.
There are some mandatory secrets if you want to reach the "actual" ending, although I feel with a bit of awareness you'll likely catch at least a couple, and you'll get a chance later to be clued in and revisit their locations which makes it not too painful to backtrack for them. You might even meet a fruity foe or two along the way.
I can conjure up some nitpicks such as finding a couple jumps a little bumpy or some sound effects too loud, but in the grand scheme of things I feel like this is an adventure game that really stands out with the passion put into it and the really impressive creativity on display. Adventure games are a great genre which can provide so much variety and fresh material for a player, and I find Eclipse to be a fantastic example of this.

Basically just read Bob's review lol. Hard to say much without sounding repetitive, but I think this is what I'd consider a perfect fangame. I think it is my #1 favorite adventure fangame.
I consider this a must-play for anyone who is interested in fangames at all, it belongs with the greats.

Pretty awesome game. Has very nice and polished visuals that are also original art (excluding maybe like 1 sprite), great fitting music, and decent bosses. Although I do consider to be pretty much the best fangame I've played, it is still not withount flaws; albeit most of those flaws are rather minor.
EDIT: Most issues pointed below are now fixed.
First of all, the audio balance is just all around the place. As an example, the text sound is extremely loud compared to music, and this seems to happen with a multitude of other sounds.
Secondly, two of the bosses (not counting anything after getting all of the items (if there is even anything)) had some pretty annoying mechanics: The gay wizard boss really could use a way to skip the intro. It's something that you can easily get past once you know how it works, but it just takes quite a bit of time before you get to actually fight the boss. For the robot boss, I'd like to see the TVs (?) get altered in some way (perhaps by simply enlarging their hitboxes so your bullets won't fly in-between them) as hitting them is the only really difficulty in the boss (at least it was for me) and that's what made it quite frustrating.
Overall yeah, this game is really freaking good. Play it.

An amazing adventure from Gwiz, definetely his best work. This game has all original graphics and even some OSTs (can't wait for the CD release) coming with a great amount of small stages with some various gimmicks and some bosses with a great amount of varying attacks
