This game was really hard for me when I first cleared it back in the day. Because I struggled with it, I don't think I could really appreciate what was in front of me.
Now I'm better—good enough to not get stuck, good enough to pay attention to the forest around me instead of the trees in front of me. Almost every jump has been hand-crafted to near perfection. Rare is the game where I'm willingly performing a platform jump instead of landing on it because it not only feels better that way, but is actually easier. The game rewards the player for taking the ambitious route and using their experience to find the intended method, which inevitably makes things easier than they would otherwise be.
There are a few minor details that hold it back. Some jumps are a touch too precise for where they occur in the save; the kid sometimes blends in a bit too much with the visuals. Minor details, yes, but important nonetheless, and they do prevent me from rating this a 9 or higher (my favourites threshold). But if you're good enough to play this and even remotely like needle, you should.

Rating based on good end? i guess i'd call it. Thanks to shign for the translated version (see his review), definitely makes a difference on this game.
Its a very unique adventure game, playing very heavily into theming which is not that common in the fangame world, and it does it well. This is probably its main strength, and sometimes comes at the cost of gameplay but I would say is worth it.
Production-wise, its very solid and lends itself towards its goals. The soundtrack is very fitting for the horror atmosphere and the sound effects are well chosen to be sharp and alarming, again playing into its theming.
The platforming is very varied and while isn't always the most deep design-wise, the variety and unexpectedness of it keeps it interesting, especially with the atmosphere. It stays consistently good which is important since there's a bit of backtracking/repeating required throughout the game. Even with the translation, it isn't always entirely clear where you're going, so its recommended that you like exploring a bit.
The bosses a bit of a mixed bag, but generally are not hard enough to present to be a problem - even likely for a newer player, as most of the hardest attacks are pattern attacks that just take a bit of learning. Again, theming and visual/audio design is amazing here, but the pacing/attacks can frequently come up short.
Overall, I definitely enjoyed it and I find very importantly for myself is that this is a very memorable game, something I put a lot of value into. It does a great job setting itself apart from other fangames and knows what its trying to do, and does it well. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for generally an easier, hefty adventure game and doesn't mind a little spooky.

Kill the Guy is a pretty lengthy adventure game with high production value and a plethora of gimmicks that are very interesting to play through. Seriously, the gimmicks in this game never got boring! Bosses had a variety of cool attacks, though some of them were a little trial-and-error and required a death or two to learn properly. The only thing that really bothered me with this game was the different physics, which made the game's controls feel a little looser than what I'm used to. However, for the style Kill the Guy was going for, it did a very good job.
Also, the challenges were super fun, and the epic dance battle is an obvious highlight of the game.

This game reminds me of kinder surprise eggs.
Each new stage resembles the moments after opening the toy capsule, followed by the assembly of the aforementioned toy (the learning process).
You may not enjoy all of the toys, but you keep coming back for more. Feeling like a kid once more.
