I'm surprised by how overlooked this game is, given it was made by Kois who is somewhat well-known in the community.
So, Last DanceR is a 90% pattern avoidance with a few RNG spew attacks here and there. Yes, most RNG attacks are pretty unfair and either wall you or don't even feel like a threat. Is that a major problem? I wouldn't say so, but it's very easy to get yourself in reset hell because of the RNG in the first half of the avoidance and that does make the grind a little worse.
The patterns are very dynamic and fun to learn, the game utilizes a lot of types of movement and doesn't boil down to safespot memorization. However, I'll admit that the fast-paced pattern part that begins at 2:12 right after the rng section is a massive difficulty spike and takes a lot of time to get good at. Even when you learn that part it will still remain as the chokepoint of most of your attempts until the moment you beat the game.

The first half felt pretty boring to me, there's not much going on and you usually die because of shit rng.
However, the pattern section on the drop is a masterpiece and the reason why everyone should at least give this avoidance a shot: the attacks are very fast-paced and different from each other, the game forces you to move constantly, there's no "stay in the safespot for 10 seconds" bullshit.
The post-pattern segment is a bit rough though, there's 2 mildly unfair attacks, but given you have HP it shouldn't be that problematic.
