I Wanna Get Cultured is an IWBTG fangame that started out as a small joke game between 2 friends imitating the Kamilia series of games. After realizing the potential and interest in a game like this, Pieceofcheese and Paragusrants teamed up to slowly turn the game into a full length project. Pieceofcheese is the producer responsible for all the games programming / coding, music selection, and most boss designs. Paragusrants acted as director by picking the content in terms of which fangames and screens would be represented in the first 6 stages

Paragus: As an avid fangame player and streamer on twitch TV, the games represented act as sort of a retelling of my journey through fangames. All of the games are included are games and screens that struck me as particularly memorable and well-made. The final stage includes original screens designed by pieceofcheese.

The goal is to create a game whose main focus is platforming (not grinding on bosses), and to create a game that would be accessible for newer players, have high replayability, and be a fun speedrun / racing game for more seasoned players. We hope you enjoy the experience this cliff notes version of my journey.

Game features

6 Full Length Fangame Stages!
1 Final Stage of exlusive original screens!
7 Hidden Unlockable Characters (1 Per Stage)!
Memorable Boss Encounters!
Amazing Soundtrack!
Achievement System!
..and an ending you won't soon forget!

After completing the game you will also unlock various new game modes to increase replayability! These modes include replaying the game with various gimmicks applied tot he entire game such as Speed, Ice, Low Gravity, Spotlight, Meteors and more!

In addition, there is a "Random" mode which will ensure you never have the same playthroguh twice! Each time you enter a screen in random you will automatically be assigned one of the variables and locked in for that screen.

For the highly skilled, "Bifficult" mode only for the most experienced and seasoned crazies who want the ultimate challenge. This mode increases the difficulty of each screen substantially by adding more obstacles. Bifficult mode can then be combined with "Random" and the other modes for even a greater unpredictable challenge!

Sunpossible mode is also present as a tribute to the infamous "Churatch" mode. Players will be given a box to enter a number of lives they want to have for the entire game. Once your lives are depleted, your game is over for good! Are you good enough to get the achievement for beating the game on Sunpossible with only 100 lives?

Special thanks goes out to the IWBTG Twitch TV Community "The Wannabes" for their help and support at various stages of this project.

Fun and funny medley game. Very cool music choices, nice visual changes and plenty of interesting screen choices with nice changes. Most bosses in the game (Aside from the last ones) are joke bosses, and quite funny joke bosses (Miku Tyson). The Stage Rush was quite creative, in many ways. I like most of the original stage (Although I was never fond of the jump refreshing part), and the Mike Tyson chase was quite cool.
The last boss, Biff, is sorta of a joke boss too (Concept-wise), but at least he fights against you. I honestly didn't like it. Most attacks were annoying to learn and many of the screen + gimmick combinations were horrible, so there was way too much RNG involved. Funny concept, but gameplay-wise...Nope.
Overall, it's a game that I really liked. Even though Biff is annoying, he's just annoying to the point of being forgettable, not to the point of ruining the game. Would recommend.

This review is based on both the normal game and bifficult mode

Even considering this is a joke medley, I think there's lots of missed potential. Very few screens really show anything of interest from the source material, and it ends up feeling like a lot of really bland needle. If you bother with bifficult you get to experience some truly heinous platforming, like, probably the worst I've played in fangame, it's clear not much thought was put into it and it REALLY shows, absolutely not worth bothering with.

Probably the best medley game that exists currently. Great screen choices overall, good production value and only a few difficulty spikes for beginners. Bring on C2!

SPOILERS SECTION
I started this game quite a while ago and finally got around to beating it after stopping at different spots that were above my skill level.

The Medley stages are great. The guy/gay tower being the highlight for me. This is the bulk of the game and also the best part.
My personal experience went down once I arrived at stage rush. It wasn't bad I just enjoyed the medley more.

The decision to not have any bosses was great for me as I've quit so many games due to unfair bosses. So it was nice not having huge roadblocks at the end of each stage.
Then came Biff. While not unfair in itself as a choke artist along with the pressure of having one shot of completing a screen with a random gimmick thrown in took me far longer than it probably should have. Each phase I probably defeated 30-50 times before finally getting a screen that had a decent gimmick and then not choking as well. It was a cool idea that ended up making the fight not fun. Spotlight, speed or reverse controls spelt doom for me and I basically just had to pray for better luck next time. On top of that phase 2 is buggy and often the balls would get stuck in areas you couldn't shoot them so I would have to reset. Probably happened 15-20 times to me.
tldr: basically a 30 second- 1 minutes respawn timer before you get to try a randomly selected stage with a gimmick thrown in.
