For: New Mini Kongkongi's Adventure(2019 ver)
Certainly flawed, but it has a ton of charm. I actually want to give this a higher score because I had a lot of fun with it, but the bugs, somewhat uninspired needle and flaws that arise from a custom built engine hold this back. I can see Mr.J(Korean) become quite the prolific fangame maker in the future though if they keep developing their ability and keep on making fangames. I can honestly say I look forward to what they release next.

For: I just wanna play the Needle game
So according to Del-Fruit, this was released on August 29, 2017. Record My Jumps had already been replaced with JTool. It was already a consensus that generic jumps do not make a good game. Everybody agrees that horrible visuals harm gameplay. It was established that repetitive content greatly harms entertainment and quality.

And yet this was released.

What is this game? This game is a gallery exhibition of Every. Single. Generic. Jump. Imaginable. Almost a thousand screeens of it. No, really, literally 1,000 screens. When I found about this, I tried to count the screens. I wanted to inform you about this game in the following form:

-Total screens: _
out of which...
-Total platforming screens: _
-Total hub screens: _
-Total ladder screens: _
-Total play time: _
-Total deaths: _

I gave up. I wanted to come up with an interesting review featuring numbers, because numbers and statistics are interesting, at least when presented as an understandbale summary (people hate math and statistics in general). But I couldn't. This is a contender for the most pointless and mind-numbingly boring fangame in existence. You cannot focus for that long. Your mind drifts. And as you contemplate +1 screens scattered all over the game to replace creativity and level design variety, gates, half diamonds, diamonds, double diamonds, a triple diamond, TAS jumps, planes, T-bones, inverts, corners and all possible generic variations with standard spikes, little spikes, giant spikes, killer blocks, delicious fruits, brown platform jumping, again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again, you lose count.

What is the purpose of this game?

1) To be the longest practice tool in existence?
2) To play almost all fangames in the future and say: "I have seen that before?"
3) An endurance test?
4) To make you reflect on why you're wasting your life away like this?

Well:

1) It is.
2) It fails. Good fangames don't use generic designs.
3) It isn't. This is torture.
4) It succeeds. The answer can result in depression.

Last screens pose a challenge, and of course, they look horrible.

Is there any redeeming quality in playing this?
A: No.

Is there a sense of accomplishment?
A: No

Did it improve my skills?
A: No, because funnily enough, I already knew all jumps

Did I have the worst time in my life?
A: Well.... no!! I can't explain why in the calmest sections of the game, I was drifting away, like walking through a park. Only you don't focus on the park, you focus on the nonsense your mind is thinking of.

Now, take a look at this; it's quite something:

Time: 6:12:18
Deaths: 6218

---Those are absolutely chilling numbers.... Why are they so similar? Is there a message behind this? God, is it you?

For: I wanna be the Neon 3
It's pretty good and your enjoyment might vary with whether or not you enjoy Nader's style of needle. I generally like the visuals but have to take a break from playing more often than with typical fangames as the neon line everything can give me a bit of a headache after a while. And while this isn't directly levied at Nader specifically, his game does fall under the umbrella of how the popularity of a streamer/fangame maker often skews objective criticism of the game in question toward the higher end simply because people like that person or know their name. It's a well designed game with solid generally forgiving needle and standard gimmicks used well, the hub halfway through the game was a nice surprise likely inspired by CN3... it was all very good, just not amazing and I just can't get on the hype train with everyone else and their GOTY ratings.

A novel idea would be to combine all of these one-screen needles you release every other day into a single package. I bet it would be better received than it is now. Just think of how crazy that would be!

Single screen. To go along with the three other single screen "games" by this person submitted over the past few days. Basically spam at this point.

For: I wanna be the Conscience
Conscience is a very solid adventure that captures that oldschool sort of feel alongside some simple but nice production value, referencing some older games and classics with appropriate visuals.

The game drops you off in a hub and gives you a choice of which order you wanna do things in. Every stage is fairly trap heavy with some real scamp moments lying deep into saves, but they mix well with the gimmicks and hazards in each stage, utilizing their respective theme pretty nicely with the visual variety. There were a couple of traps that confused me, with one particular trap in the Mario underground stage feeling a bit too cryptic for its own good.

All of the bosses feel unique, again playing into the theme of the stage. They never felt very learny and the attacks flowed quite nicely, although the final boss takes a bit of getting used to in order to adapt to his patterns quickly which actually made for a very enjoyable and fun finale. One boss that felt more or less reaction-speed based I wasn't big on, although it isn't terribly demanding.

Overall it's a moderately sized adventure with some oldschool variety, fun bosses and a boatload of colourful traps along the way, which sounds like a good time to me.

As one of Carnival's older but more well known games, Heaventrap holds up pretty well so long as you know what you're in for. In true Carnival style, it's a trap filled adventure through fairly standard looking areas, usually referencing the original IWBTG or making use of nice simple tiles and backgrounds, often with a completely unrelated boss to round things off. There's some pretty cool variety and I enjoyed the exploration throwback that it uses with the whole Room of Divine Transportation thing.

The bosses whilst being relatively simple all felt interesting enough and unique to stand out, with mixed memorability.. Not many games give you the chance to have a final destination showdown with the Smash Bros icon, or have a taiko showdown in a Big Kid-esque segment. None of them feel remotely special in terms of production value which isn't really expected given the age of the game, but it would've been cool to see the bosses go beyond just a static sprite hurling some attacks at you.

I'm somewhat hit or miss with trap-heavy games like this, so I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it and how it holds up after all this time. If you're in the mood for an adventure somewhat reminiscent of the original IWBTG then it's a pretty decent choice. Just make sure you expect a boatload of trap shenanigans along the way and some very oldschool design.

For: New Mini Kongkongi's Adventure(2019 ver)
Adventure game suitable for beginner players (enable autofire using "A" key), but I can't honestly recommend it.

New Mini Kongkongi's Adventure got some length, numerous bosses, and some platforming, but, unfortunately, none of it is very satisfying.
Platforming is a joke, with stiff jumping of the custom engine somehow providing much worse 2D platformer experience than you expect from a fangame.
Tilesets are not the best, but what really sucks is that they clash with backgrounds really hard, hurting my eyes.
Enemies don't pose a threat aside from bosses. Almost all normal bosses are just annoying, placed in similar style arenas without much variation. Final boss is just a combination of all normal bosses, which makes it barely interesting.

All that said, game contains a bunch of secret areas and secret bosses, few of which I uncovered on my first playthrough. In opposition to normal bosses, secret bosses are both better made and got more interesting attacks, making me wonder why all this stuff is hidden to the side.

Honestly, can't recommend, but it is not the worst.

Charming adventure game. It does some neat things, but it isn't all that interesting and the traps are kinda meh.
