[played on original mode] an interesting short needle game, though idk how much it keeps to the ftfa style. it wasn't especially difficult for me (~20 minutes and ~400 deaths). i think this might be why it doesn't feel especially ftfa-like to me, as there were very few (if any) jumps that were super precise. there were a few difficult jumps though, some of which stood out to me as notable. the first jump on the second screen was especially interesting; i had seen someone play the game before and that jump looked a lot harder than it felt to play. another interesting jump is the 5f at the end of the third save, it's an interesting placement that feels unique. the last screen is the most interesting imo, it also feels the most ftfa like. i really like the first jump in it, as to get the vstring trick for the diagonal you have to fj twice. i think the first water usage on this screen didn't feel very ftfa-like; the rest of the water on the 4th screen felt very ftfa screen 4-like in the way it played but nonetheless was quite fun, presumably because it wasn't as precise as the water parts in the og ftfa. the jump with the 6 spikes on the floor in the last section of the room is not particularly precise but it is still very fun and feels very ftfa-like.
overall a fun, short, relatively easy needle game that may or may not be very ftfa-like.

i really love this game, especially the first screen. the first jump is one of my favorite jumps in the game not necessarily because of the jump itself, but because of how significant it is. it is a perfect skill gate; almost all of the attempts before i started grinding were stopped at the first jump.
the second screen is imo the easiest as it has only two or three frame-perfect jumps. i would have a problem with the shuriken if i couldn't 3f consistently, and i'd have problems with the corner if i hadn't been told the good align.
the third screen is the first place where the game lost a 10/10 rating in my book, as it has a required 2f/1f. this feels like it goes against the design philosophy of the first two screens (especially the first), mainly being that they were not hardware-specifc and had barely any short taps, focusing mainly on jump height control past a 4f. for the most part though, this screen is very fun.
the fourth screen is my least favorite, as it almost completely throws out the design principles laid out by the first two screens. it has only a couple setup jumps, the rest being water-based. all of the water is inconsistent, though the most inconsistent for me was the double dplane; it felt more like rng compared to the first water jumps of the screen which i was able to set up to some extent.
overall, it is a really good game and one of my favorites, but as it goes on it seems to stray further from the design principles that make me love it, hence the 9.5.
