I tend to try and play games without ratings.
Only using 1-10 ratings as I find 1-100 too much for a person to pinpoint well. That's what averages are for.
I use this list for my difficulty rating guidelines. Example a game with almost soley moderately difficult platforming around the 6 range that has a screen of 7 at the end will still be ranked as a 6. Likewise a game with that same measurement but a last screen difficulty of 8 might get a 7 difficulty rating.
10 - Last TIS
9 - Kamilia 3
8 - Crimson Needle 2
7 - Kamilia 2
6 - NANG
5 - Cultured 1
4 - Citadel
3 - Bread
2 - Yellow Stars
1 - Challenge 100 trials
My personal ratings usually follow a somewhat predefined list of checks as follow. Obviously with all the diversity in fangames things can go up and down in rating based on a plethora of criteria. Something like the first half of the game being amazing and the last half falling flat might deserve a 5 for instance. This is just a quick idea of how I rate games in a broad sense.
1 - Hardly anything went into making this type of game.
2 - Shows some signs of effort.
3 - Generally novice game makers who tried but just didn't hit any marks.
4 - Fair effort given just lack of actual good execution.
5 - Time was invested and levels thought out just nothing special.
6 - Sparks of creativity or ingenuity arise.
7 - Ideas are well fleshed out and the games generally been put through multiple renditions.
8 - Production value exists on top of good game play.
9 - Either these games do something really really REALLY well or they're above any expectations, with major attractions covering their few flaws.
10 - I save this rating for generally 1 game at a time based on what I think is the best fangame I've ever played and had the most fun playing.

I wanna be the Sorrow
I was pleasantly surprised with this game. Its an adventure game with multiple areas all with their own semi-gimmick. Some are as simple as shoot the bad guys while others have a few more tricks up their sleeves. Each stage felt really well attended to even for the gimmicks I found lack luster. A few things in this game absolutely blew me and away and save a few awkward or ill placed jumps here and there the ride was smooth and fun. The bosses were all bosses I wanted to keep fighting because they were fun not because i was looking for a grind. The production value is not in short value and the comedy while scarce is more or less on point. I'd totally recommend this game, it wouldn't be the first to come to mind but for more experienced players looking for some fun its on the list.

Okay so difficulty on this one is going to fluctuate all over and I'm not sure if I just got lucky. The fights heavily rng dependent sometimes but the bullets don't move particularly fast. Theres 2 attacks near the start and one at the end that are really crappy. As for the avoidance itself its very basic but sync'd up decently well. Hopefully this was a great stepping stone for whoever made it because it had some cool idea but with a little more know how I could see them making something awesome.

I wanna be the Iconoclast
Pretty sure the game wasn't finished as the ending is just a grey screen with the kid falling forever. That being said the game has semblances of ideas, but most screens are just a lot of empty space and some simple platforming with a couple easily dodged trolls that never really get excessive. There are few hints of creativity in solving puzzle-like platforming but nothing over the top. The 2 bosses are easy and unimaginative but have a few funny moments. The games worth a play if you're bored and up for a laugh. Oh and there's like 4 invisible mazes each worse then the last. One involves almost soley ledge jumps and another covers about 3 screens. The game has its charm of a maker with undecided resolve.

I wanna be parTed I-side Trap
This game starts off really lighthearted and pretty funny too. The traps are easy and look visually pleasing for the most part. You can predict some and others just nail you. At about 3/5 through the levels things start to get silly with invisible corners, 16px gaps, and ever tedious platforming. I found the secret by mistake which allowed me to enter the secret stages at the end of the game which is mostly just aids needle, with decent save placement. The boss of this game looks like complete trash unfortunately as you have a dot hitbox and hardly any vision of it since you're a white and red kid with a white dot in the middle representing your hitbox. The first bit of this game is great I loved it from there on the game divulges rapidly till it finally hits unplayability.
Note: I did not beat the boss at the end of extra.

I wanna be the Tomorrow Sky Night
Two easy screens of platforming followed by a semi rng dependent avoidance with a great song. The avoidance isn't anything spectacular or amazing but for new comers to fangames could be a nice way to get their feet wet reading rng. Would I go out of my way to recommend this game no, but if I was asked I'd be more then encouraging in letting them know the games worth a shot. Overall a calm game with a good feel to it.
