A short and fun little game that I think technically fits in the Hades-like spectrum? It uses the same sort of pattern for bothe tiles and spikes and isn't very heavily produced. There's one normal screen and one extra screen, and the extra is (imo) significantly more difficult specifically due to the use of gravity flippers, which aren't present in the main screen. If you're good with flipped gravity, however, these will probably not be too much more of a challenge. I liked the way certain jumps just kind of flowed on a held direction, and how there didn't seem to be many frame-perfect timings (only two that I noticed, and both in the extra stage, so fair play). My favorite thing about this game was the save balance, they never felt too long, and always like you rewarded at just the right point for completing a difficult sequences of jumps, usually no more than three or four.

This is literally my favorite fangame of all time. I have never experienced such a sense of freedom and creation as booting up jtool and moving around like an idiot between some spikes. It is impossible for me to describe how much I love this program, how much time I have spent using/playing it, how it is almost entirely responsible for my entry into the fangame community and having anything to do with needle at all and being able to make a game and...
I like it.

After letting a very small amount of time pass, I'm mostly okay with the reception this game received. My main worry is that people won't have played the original Tethys or its immediate derivatives enough to understand why my approach to needle design was so constrained. Normally, a map needs 3 things for it to feel like 'me': fruit, water, and an f-jump. You can get two out of three here, but my inclusion of fruit is actually kind of controversial in regards to Tethys-likes (at least in my opinion, in that I haven't seen it done before).
The original Tethys is almost entirely straightforward 32px needle for the first half, and many of the screens had jumps I studied directly. In this endeavor, Serotonin was more of a guidance, and the things I took away from that game were t-boned gates and diagonals—lots of diagonals, with 16px block layouts. If possible, it might be more fun to look at this game as a direct inspection and attempted recreation of those specific elements—or, you can just say, as a needle game, it is quite limited and generic. That's a consequence of it being my first game, which is hopefully something I can overcome in the future.
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to play and review this game. I'm blown away at how many people left their thoughts and feelings. It's my sincere hope that the next 'real' game I release will be more approachable and enjoyable for everyone. <#~

It's my not-so-secret dream that someone will complete this some day in the future. Possibly that would be aided by making the majority of the game playable outside of pre-existing jtool maps.
To that end, I've decided to provide the first hint for the code, which is to be entered via keyboard on the first/hub screen of the game.
Hint the 1st: the code is not 'new'. It is a pre-existing code I appropriated.
Good luck.
Edit, May 11th, 2022: If anyone shows even the slightest interest in playing this, I'll give them the code. Apparently an easter egg hunt isn't very fun if no one is taking part.
And if anyone beats it with default saves I will give them a prize.
This is what's known as 'desperation'. Bye for now.

This felt like a beginner L-needle game with a plain but charming aesthetic and a lovely Touhou jazz song to play along to. One of the things I love most about dono games is that no matter how accurate the homage turns out to be, you almost always get a product that's full of appreciation and deeply playable. Usually approachable for beginners as well. I would recommend this game to people interested in the genre for the first time, or intermediate players looking for something light and cheerful while still on the precise side. That being said, it did not feel very 'Hades-like' to me, but 'like' genres are a whole symposium in and of themselves.
