Painfully short beginner needle game with no real clear screen. The needle screens in general make good use of spaced drops and give a decent amount of leeway in terms of frames and pixels. They felt very satisfying to go through and it was a shame when the game was over so soon.

A Cirno-themed vanilla needle game with a strong and creative usage of named jumps and their nerfed variants. Starts out quite easy but spikes in difficulty drastically during one of the later saves. There's an extra mode that includes some single jump stages, and is overall really fun and challenging. I didn't have any problems with this game aside from the fact that some/many of the saves are placed aesthetically, rather than in the best position for subsequent jump retries. The music seems like it might be a remix of Tomboyish Girl In Love but I am not sure. There is a lot of content here if you play through the extra stage. It was really fun to play through and I would recommend it to intermediate needle players or anyone looking for gimmick-less needle. Especially recommended if you liked named jumps and variations on them.

A season-themed needle game split up into four areas with many screens per zone. This game has a lot of content for such a simple idea and execution, and aside from minor graphical nitpicks (like the almost unreadable starting font) it seems to have put a lot of attention into presentation and thematic aesthetics. Each area looks exactly like you'd imagine that season to look, with a soft theming element throughout. Spring is single save/screen needle with no particularly hard jumps but a lot riding on consistency. Summer is more open needle with soft pathing and a few more drops than jumps. Fall uses the only gimmick of the game: vines. It's safe to say they're underutilized at best, and downright painful at worst. One section towards the end will haunt me for some time to come, even after finding a setup for it. Winter was my favorite season: it is 'named jumpland' extravaganza, with nothing but shapes you've seen before (or maybe haven't) and a save after almost every jump. I started with this season, and it was totally my jam, but I'd recommend doing your playthru in the order that seems most appealing. Leave the bad stuff for last or get it out of the way first... I'm sure you know how to eat your dinner by now.
As a bit of a bummer, there is no clear screen or signifier that you've cleared all seasons aside from their emblems appearing in the main hub. I also don't think there is a 'go back to hub' key, so if you accidentally save in a season you've already beaten, have fun (this happened to me—luckily it was winter which was fun to play thru again anyway).
Great and lengthy simple thematic needle with maybe a few smudges in terms of production value. Was a blast to play overall.

An alarmingly short needle game with an overreliance on named jumps. The ones that crop up the most are 'Rashomon' (idk what else they are called but if you check http://necoroneko.web.fc2.com/spike.html that's what it calls them), and holy cow, there are a lot of them. Even in its best implementation this jump seems kind of bland to me, but in later screens it just becomes more and more squished to the point where 1 or 2 frame jumps become mandatory more than just helpful—and, of course, numpad is disabled. There's not a lot good to say—— about it, but maybe if you really enjoy that one particular jump it's worth a play. Also a sussy soft-lock pseudo-clear screen. :/

Caretaker is a game that caught my eye in a stream and compelled me to play it on aesthetic and visuals alone. The brain-apples and moving blood water spoke to me, and the rest of this game is just as daring in terms of its looks: visuals include tv-static-water that moves you linearly in the direction you were moving when you entered, the aforementioned moving blood-water, and a giant eyeball that extends pulsating vision cones and will chase you if you're foolish enough to enter its visible dominion. The visuals change regularly and always in unsettling and refreshing ways. In particular, I enjoyed the implementation of fruit throughout—needles are far sparser than other obstacles, or at least feel so, and this gives the game a more 'open' and 'forgiving' sense despite its otherwise hostile atmosphere. Screens are usually one save, but the difficulty curve is very forgiving, and no jump in particular will demand an intense grind. Usually you'll have just gotten used to one gimmick before you're whisked away and introduced to a new one, which keeps the sense of wonderment up while perhaps leaving a whisp of melancholy at unexplored potential. There is, blessedly, a 'smoosh all the gimmicks together' at the end section, and while it's a delight to play, it's as mercifully short as the game is itself, showing you an overwhelming depth without overstaying its welcome.
It occurs to me I forgot to mention the 'shoot to see the other dimension of the screen' gimmick, possibly because it's too hard to describe even as it feels implemented in an incredibly intuitive and easy to understand way. You, uh, shoot your gun, and it shows you one layer of spikes and obstacles, even level geometry... then you shoot, and it shows you the other layer. You can see the whole 'screen' at the same time, but the things that occupy it are different. So you may have to shoot mid-jump to see the upcoming geometery or... you know, you might want to watch a video for this one. Or play it yourself. Maybe just play it.
Easily one of the best fangames I've ever played, in terms of aesthetics, level design, and gimmick implementation. If anything one of my only complaints might be that it's too short—but keeping up that standard of creativity throughout a project this long already requires an immense talent. A definitely masterpiece overall imo.
