A very short but charming little needle game. Fairly easy, with a quite interesting platform gimmick in the first area that sadly does not reappear later on. Feels like the game maybe was finished 'just because'? That being said it was still a fun little playthrough.

This is a really cute needle romp that feels like it was designed backwards—the hardest jumps are mostly at the front, with the last save being probably the easiest one in the game. Nothing major to say about the tileset or music choice, just that they're pleasant and compliment each other fine. There were one or two weirdly difficult jumps throughout, contrasted by an area with three gates next to two saves. The easiest set of jumps in the game somehow has two saves?
Fun but a little frustrating at times.

Cute beginner needle with occasional random difficulty jumps and cute little v-align dependent intermissions. I wanna remember a lovely cat too, and this game helped me do that, so I like it.

For: Poor Mind
An beginner-intermediate needle game that somehow felt deeply personal despite not having much text or anything really besides the design of the levels. I played with music half on, half off, and the tilesets didn't stick in my memory very much. That being said, the levels felt wonderful to play, and communinicative of the designer's preferences in a blatant way I haven't really encountered thus far. I suppose it's only second nature that, when you set out to make a game, you'd fill it full of things you like to encounter when you're playing. It just seems to be the case that many games either hide one preference under many layers, or, on the other hand, make it too blatant, to the point where it drowns the entire experience.
'Poor Mind' has kind of a split between full length jumps, walk-off setups, and some tricky wiggles inbetween. Most of the jumps feel 'friendly' in a way I'm not sure I can properly articulate... just beyond them being forgiving in the right way, they're often oriented around simpler input actions, like holding jump for its full duration versus a certain amount of frames. Most of the time, when I encountered something that stood out in difficulty, it turned out there was an embedded setup present in one of these forms. This kind of design is, in my mind, subtly divisive—is it a way to make the player feel more skilled than they actually are, giving them a jump or sequence of jumps that 'looks' difficult but has 'simplified' inputs, making it possible in an almost setup-like manner? Personally I don't think there's much merit to complaining about how other people have fun, so I'll leave that alone, I guess.
What came across to me, overall, in playing this game, was a quiet sense of hopefulness and maybe even luxury, some kind of happy paradise at the end of a long journey that might be worth it all. Obviously that's reading a lot into a bunch of needle screens, but art is there to be interpreted, after all. I also would have preferred more save points.

One of the most enjoyable 'beginner' needle games I've had the pleasure of playing. While the aesthetics of the tilesets are mostly plain, they work well in service of the design, which is the standout. Saves are plentiful, jumps are mostly easy with occasional spice thrown in, and the game overall has a cohesive vision which it adheres to: chill needle and have a nice day.
Can't recommend this one enough as a cute and fun little jaunt.
