A fun mostly-pattern avoidance that got my heart pumping. There was only one attack that gave me pause (giant die), and I really enjoyed how some attacks were repeated and enhanced in different ways. Seemed to have a lot of vocaloid tropes, but as a first-timer, they were mostly novel to me and really enjoyable (mostly aimed fruit streams).

I am literally shaking after clearing this for the first time. Because I'm very new to avoidance I imagine this is a common feeling amongst players of the genre, but to me, someone who functions more comfortably in environments that are almost totally under control... let me start over.
Azumol is a single screen of light needle followed by a two minute-ish avoidance, set to a remix/cover that seems to incorporate several different Touhou songs—the one melody I could pick out was 'Green-eyed Jealousy', which is sort of the main leitmotif of Touho 8: Subterranean Animism. The needle is a single screen, single save consistency type where the hardest named jump is a Rukito ledge. The avoidance is something else.
An attempt at describing the attacks/phases:
- Initial RNG burst (basically free)
- Follow up double RNG bursts (also basically free)
- Time delay knife cluster (basically free but RNG can suck)
- Orbs throwing knives pt. 1 (requires light attention to trajectory/dodging)
- Orbs throwing knives pt. 2 (has several safe spots but can require a jump on the third spin/end)
- Falling knives (requires reading but is short in duration)
- Spinning orb knife : This attack is the meat of the entire first part of the fight as it goes on the longest and requires the most straight-up reading. It's a very random attack but one that can be dodged fairly consistently as well. In short, it's part of why I almost instantly fell in love with this avoidance—it just feels fun to read things and dodge them. In practice I found the best method to look for fast-moving knives firstmost, because their trajectory would always be instantly the most dangerous, and then to look for slow-moving clusters with a trajectory that overlapped my safe spot (lower left corner). Dodging during this phase felt incredibly fun. Also the initial burst is heavy RNG but almost never screwed me over—it just served as a sort of introduction to the main first phase of the avoidance. The ending involves the knives on screen pinching together, which can get you if you're not expecting it, but probably not often after that.)
- Bouncing orbs (not too bad for a bouncing attack)
- Center orb storm (lots of fun RNG reading dodges, but the ending can suck—the orbs on screen stutter towards the center, vibrate a bit, then burst outwards. RNG can sort of screw you on the ending.)
After these attacks you get the first main transition, which involves the kid falling through space and spinning around.
- Pattern beans : This attack has a safe spot for the first half and is very easy to dodge for the second half because it's the same every time. I don't think I ever died to it.
Then you get the second transition, zooming in as the breakcore drums speed up.
- Dodging knives in a box : Most of my runs died here. You're contained in a much smaller arena in the shape of a square, and are tasked with dodging knives thrown at you by four orbs rotating around the box. The trajectories overlap a lot, there are many knives on screen at a time, and their speeds vary, so you have to deal with a lot of RNG reading all at once. When you pull it off, it feels amazing, but I was almost always left with a 'how did I do that' sensation when I actually made it through, especially on the last run.
After another short transition, it's:
- Falling beans : A bunch of tiny beans come in from above and around you and fall slowly. By the time they're close enough to reach you, the attack is usually over.
- Falling knives : A short RNG section where the surface you're standing on goes upwards slowly.
And then, finally:
- Swirling knives: I don't know really how to properly describe or explain this attack because my clear involved basically fluking the entire thing. Every PB before that attempt made it to the start of this attack and died instantly, and the only time I made it past was in the lower left corner, which, upon watching a video, seems highly sub-optimal. If I was to replay this I probably try staying closer to the center at the beginning for more time to read.
Writing this review just after clearing, my heart is going so fast my chest hurts, and this game has left a serious impression on me. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a low-medium difficulty avoidance with lots of fair rng and fast reads.

A goner-style game with weird concept jumps and a default-ish tileset. Not recommended unless you like wonky precision needle or goner games in general. Difficulty rating includes extra.

A sequel/expansion to 'I Wanna —', designed to be slightly more challenging but still welcoming to new players. No bunny hops or cancels are required for any saves, but valign may occasionally be part of intended strats. You can press 'up' on any save to see a recommended strat, and press 'backspace' at any time to see your aligns. Saving valign is toggleable by player preference thanks to an engine update from renex.

A great beginner avoidance to a banger song from everyone's favorite indie RPG (no, not the one that's vibrating with motion). I really enjoyed that you start with the second spirit halo (which I call a 'hat'), and I wish there was some way to restore it during play. Some of the later attacks are a bit learny in a binary way, but the song is short and segmented well so it wasn't a huge problem. I think this would actually present a decent challenge to beginners even if they're familiar with the genre conventions.
