WrathofAnubis

A sort-of adventure game that is heavily inspired by k3. Starts with some nicely-themed easy needle "stages", made of up sub-stages with different aesthetics. The first few bosses are fairly standard and easy, until you get to the boss rush. For the boss rush, you're given 3 avoidances that would be rather difficult...if you didn't have an exceptional amount of health, that is. Then you have a series of "maker" stages, which look worse but are more interesting than the earlier ones. Unfortunately, in one of them the music doesn't work at all, and the flashing lights and colors in the last one are kinda distracting.
The final boss features the longest, most pointless walk to it ever, also didn't have working music, and has an incredibly boring final phase (in a poor nod to k3) where you have to dodge an annoying pattern while mashing through an ungodly amount of HP (within a time limit to boot!). You also have an ungodly amount of hp. It's terribly boring and not well designed at all, and also didn't feature music in my playthrough. My finger started to hurt so damn much that I just bound shoot to my scroll wheel and whirled the boss to death, and even that took longer than I expected.
I had higher hopes for this game from the admittedly well-rounded early stages (plus some stellar music choices), but the later glitches and poor design really bummed me out. Some of these things seem like fairly easy fixes, but the game could clearly use more testing (another example: after getting to the warp room upon clearing the game, returning to the final boss only lets you fight the last phase - not the first avoidance).

Basically an avoidance, as your gun has auto-fire and automatically locks onto the boss (but can still not quite reach at certain distances).
Anyway, it's a fun fight, with some genuinely interesting RNG - you'll rarely see the same pattern twice. There are...15+?...attacks, and there will generally be 2 going on at once. This is combined with a random movement pattern of the boss and occasional modifiers that make the bullets move up, down, left, or right like a gravity shift (you'll be able to tell because the screen changes color). The particular pattern is (I believe) indicated by the number in the top left, although I haven't spent the time to decipher precisely what it means.
Like any RNG mechanic, it'll occasionally screw you with (sometimes literal) bullet walls and shitty transitions, but I found the game pretty fun regardless, and not excessively difficult.

A one screen needle game with lots of saves and standard jumps. Feels more like a demo than a full game.

A short, 3-screen needle game. Not much to say here, fairly standard jumps, lots of saves, decent music.

A short needle game with an ornate (but effective) tileset and nice piano music. A few interesting jumps, but nothing groundbreaking.
