Has heart, but little else. Fairly standard adventure game riddled with questionable design choices. Runs the gamut of the standard adventure game themes (Mario, Kirby, et al.) but are mostly nondescript, mixed with bursts of the unexpected, including a very janky but blessedly small segment where you ride a lion and jump through flaming hoops for a bit (it's less exciting than it sounds). No bosses to be found in here either, the adventure ends as abruptly as it begins.
You tried, I suppose.

Feel free to take this review with various pinches of salt, as I am admittedly not the target audience for this game, and I have yet to clear it (though I have played it for an hour and a half at time of writing and have made it around 3:00 out of 3:30 through it). For the same reasons, I am not giving this game a quality rating.
I thought I'd try this game after seeing bakudan's clear video of it, finding the patterns interesting-looking and very much enjoying the song used in it. Unfortunately, as it turns out, I didn't find it as fun to play as I did to watch. The game is a single avoidance which gives you 15HP to clear it (technically 16, because you live at 0HP, but then the next hit kills you). It feels like you're expected to abuse the fact you have HP at times, which feels like an antithesis to the point of having HP in an avoidance in the first place. Personally, I advocate for more avoidances having player HP, but it shouldn't be used as an excuse for unbalanced RNG like this game seems to use it as.
I could name several moments during playing where it feels like you're completely at the mercy of randomness (excessively so by avoidance standards, in my opinion) and just expected to tank through it anyway. On top of this are various patterns scattered throughout which vary in precision and reasonableness. The toughest of them seem to be in the second half of the avoidance, at which point you may or may not have enough HP to deal with them tolerantly.
I can respect this as a music video, but I'd respect it more if it was more friendly about being a game.

I am very confused as to this game's seemingly default controls (as set in the included config file) of A/D as left/right, J as jump, and I as shoot.
If this game is intended for beginners, it might be a better idea to get them accustomed to the controls 99% of other fangames use.

Admittedly uncleared, but since my hand is hurting after 10-15 minutes of mashing against the final boss and getting nowhere with it, as far as I'm concerned, I've seen all that I need to.
Aolan should count themselves very lucky that their platforming efforts are solid. Based on the platforming alone, this would've been an easy 7.0, probably.
But the bosses are atrocious. They follow the general "theme" (if you can call it one) of basically getting lucky. While luck is an inherent part of fangame bosses by design, I don't find bosses that lean into it enjoyable in the slightest.
The bird was the most tolerable, given its attacks have the biggest spread, and the boss itself is easy-ish to avoid.
The shovel is awful due to unreactable RNG after whittling its health down a little. And thanks to it gaining a speed increase after taking some damage, you'll be crossing your fingers for three or four waves, hoping you aren't cornered by the boss and the giant raining shards.
Finally, Big Broccoli from Rukimin!7 combines the problems with the previous boss with the very real chance of wrist pain, being a high HP boss with zero i-frames. Being pelted at by projectiles from above on its own is okay. Restricting your movement afterwards is less okay. Adding extra hazards that fly in from the sides (and can spawn on top of you since they don't create themselves in the wall or outside the room) while all of the above is going on is just frustrating.
Get to the last boss, watch their cutscene for the lore, then hit Escape. I'm not sure it's worth it.

2015 me thought it was a good idea to upload a non-fangame to the wiki because fangame players might like it.
2018 me wishes 2015 me didn't.
2021 me REALLY wishes 2015 me didn't.
2022 me wants to clarify I'm not ashamed of making this game, I'm ashamed of uploading it here before getting into the fangame scene.
If you're someone with archive access and decide to play this anyway, please keep in mind it's only vaguely inspired by fangames, and barely is one itself even if you stretch as hard as you can. Read on for the original description of this game if you insist on playing it.
A fangame-except-not-really created by me and a couple of friends around 2 years ago as of this review/comment. Despite featuring drastically different physics to normal fangames, I submitted it to the wiki thinking that the fangame community would enjoy it. As you can see below, some do and some don't. I'm not sure what I expected.
The version uploaded to the wiki features 5 worlds and 5 bosses, with harder versions available to be unlocked. If you've come here looking for the eleventh star in a world, don't take damage against the regular version of the world's boss.
One day I plan to remake this game as an actual fangame with an actual fangame engine, so look forward to that possibly? Who knows.
