So, how does this game hold up today? After replaying the game, it definitely wasn't as good as I remembered. It has a lot of jank, and some of the bugs are nearly gamebreaking. If you don't single jump, you get two double jumps, and every time you touch a ceiling, you get your double jump back. The hitboxes are also quite diabolical. The mobile controls could also be a bit better, but they are definitely better than most mobile fangame controls. There was a lot to enjoy though. I will go through each stage in the game and say how I feel about them.
Stage 1 was a decent first stage. The design isn't super interesting, and there isn't much going on, but it was decent. The first boss was also decent. It's very simple, but the attacks are pretty fun to dodge.
Stage 2 has a bit more interesting stuff, but it's still nothing too memorable. The second boss is a bit unbalanced, and every attack allows you to either deal a lot of damage or basically no damage at all.
Stage 3 is the first actually memorable stage. The "avoidance hell" trials were a nice change of pace, even though the first one is quite luck based. There are some other memorable bits too, like the boshy reference part. The boss is really fun and requires a lot of fast thinking with the bullets coming from the sides. It can be rather unforgiving though, and it was definitely way harder than I remembered.
Stage 4 is a pretty interesting one. There's a lot of variety and many interesting parts, but it is a bit janky. The conveyor belts were very hard to deal with especially with the mobile controls. It was a great stage though. The boss is the best boss in the game by a long shot. It's a roulette that makes you survive random avoidance attacks for 20 seconds. I like a lot the attacks here, and especially the bouncing spikes were super fun to dodge.
Stage 5 is probably the best stage in the game. It has an amazing atmosphere, and the level design is great throughout the entire stage, even if it doesn't have as much variety as Stage 3 and Stage 4. The final boss was really fun too. A lot of it is waiting to get good attacks, but I like the amount of variety with the attacks.
Overall revisiting this game was a great time, even if there were some annoyances. I don't even know if you can still get this game anywhere, but if you can, I would recommend giving it a shot.
