Fangame Clear #44
I honestly didn't hate this, but there certainly isn't anything to like. It's just kind of bad all around, though fortunately nothing extremely annoying. Also extra points for including a way to skip half the game lol. (Hit backspace to do this, I would fully recommend it.)
The final avoidance is, really funny honestly. It basically features the worlds shittiest music, the worlds shittiest cherry design, it's completely unsynced and I swear it's practically untested. It's honestly such a joke that it was just funny to play it in an ironic sense. Don't bother with this one unless you're doing FSR.

Puzzle fangame with a ton of really cool ideas just executed in a very tedious and annoying way. Most of the puzzles are either very easily solved, with one screen in particular being incredibly out of the box to an annoying extent, so a lot of your playtime is running around and collecting different kids to eventually make it through a very long screen. This gets incredibly tedious very quickly, and the game continues to throw more and more gimmicks at you until it's a screen filled with kids and you're tasked to run between them to do a single thing with them, which *could* be fun if you're into that sort of thing but otherwise its abnormally tedious.
One particular gripe that really made this playthrough miserable was the dash kid, specifically the "tutorial" which was harder than the rest of the game combined. This room is so terribly made and genuinely infuriating to play that it just really ruined anything this game had going for it.
The sole reason why I didn't rate it in the 2.0-2.9 range was because of the 2 bossfights, the former being a sort of "tutorial" for the latter. The first is very fun and quite easy to get through, kind of like a WarioWare sort of thing but not quite. The final boss, however, is so vastly different than anything else ever seen in fangames that I was shocked to see it. So many things could've went wrong when making this fight and astonishingly, none of them did. It's a perfect end to a puzzle-like game, and absolutely mindmelting (in a good way.)
Overall, if you're into puzzles and gimmicks, this could work for you. Otherwise, I would recommend something else. If you have to play this for FSR, at least you have the final boss to look forward to, because despite every other part of this game being tedious, it really did leave an impression.

For some reason I found myself really enjoying this outside of a few areas. I feel as if this is a perfect fangame if you're looking to up the difficulty on the stuff you play, the platforming is pretty varied and interesting with plenty of gimmicks thrown your way, and the bosses are fun to boot. There's a pretty large difficulty spike with jumps completely foreign to games of this difficulty within the last two stages, so if you are a beginner I would advise some caution.

A lot of good ideas at work here. The fire stage was quite nice and a lot of the gimmicks were fairly well explored. The bosses weren't exactly bad either! However, a lot of it was unenjoyable and quite frankly boring due to enemies being the sole focus of difficulty, and when the enemies became more plentiful and when you start combining these with gimmicks, things become a lot more tedious and frankly annoying. Overall it's quite good with plenty of flaws, and it's maybe worth a shot.

As someone who (at this point) wasn't fully involved within playing tens of fangames and bordering on hundreds, I didn't notice much of a problem with stage choices, references, etc. This review will be mostly talking about gameplay.
I liked the majority of this game despite a few issues. The stages in question had a ton of variance within its difficulty, i.e some screens of stage 5 were MUCH harder than others, which were freebies. Despite this, these stages were quite fun. I was kind of disappointed that the bosses were all kind of just jokes. As a medley/adventure game I felt quite left out of the boss-end of this game, and the one boss this game did have really sucked. The stage rush was quite cool, though the Locus screen was not fun. The final stage was the hardest by a very substantial amount, making the difficulty curve even more unbalanced.
The final boss is pretty atrocious and puts this from an 80 -> 60 in quality nearly instantly. A lot of the attacks themselves felt kind of random, and generally felt like a slog. This makes it infinitely worse to introduce modifiers to randomized screens from previous stages, meaning that your needle can either be very easy or complete hell on earth. Failing this needle sends you back to the avoidance, meaning that you must slog through more of basically random avoidance just to have another spin on the gimmick-wheel.
Overall, a generally fun experience with a lot of flaws, if you're playing this I would leave out the final fight. Not worth the time.
