Very fun, banger song, thanks for the practice mode
The only attack that felt a bit questionable was the high-speed rain with a big red star obscuring the middle of the screen

Don't be intimidated by the almost 70 difficulty average - if you've beaten other arzztt games like VoVoVo, Chill Needle 2, Not Another VVVVVV game, you can already beat 90% of Save My Boy. And if you're not at that level yet, then I'll tell you the rating average is well-earned: All the time I've spent playing and making gimmick fangames, the effort and practice that took me to a point where I could clear this without getting stuck on a save for more than 20ish minutes, was worth it just to clear Save My Boy.

A gimmick game based around a wide variety of gimmicky jump refreshers that are slowly added across each stage, topped with a final stage with single screens centered around a single gimmick jump refresher.
I like the visuals and tilesets, especially the final stage visuals.
The screen design is on average very good; there's several gimmicks like high gravity and slowdown, that could have been abused to force very precise jumps, but they're used judiciously for a great experience. The game also avoids the common pitfall of jump refresher chains with overly precise jump timings to keep height/momentum. There's a couple screen transition ambushes on stage 2, and a few saves with an unnecessarily hard needle jump right at the end or beginning of the save, which takes away from the gimmick gameplay (most notably last save of stage 2 and final stage purple screen first save).
Overall I enjoyed it a lot, it struck the right balance of gimmick, needle and grindiness. It's not my favorite of the pieceofcheese gimmick trilogy (Jungle Adventure is), but it's up there with them, albeit definitely the hardest of the three. Solid recommend for any experienced gimmick enjoyers!

Very creative, although sometimes that leads to questionable decisions, but overall a fun trap game with unique bosses.

A timeless classic, with mostly stellar gameplay design, even for gimmicks I'm not a fan of, like conveyors and gravity fields . I'm extra impressed by the fact that most rooms hold well, with minimal modifications, after the 180 degree plot twist. That being said, I'm happy I waited until now to aim for the true ending, because 2022 voracious would have found it very frustrating!
I'd definitely recommend the any% ending for anyone, even beginners, since NANG is a game that lends itself well to revisit after your skills increase, and true ending for more experienced fangamers. Overall I enjoyed it, it never became boring despite its length, and even the more frustrating floors were worth grinding for the satisfaction of the clear.
