Very cute and refreshing, especially the final two stages. Take the difficulty with a grain of salt - I feel like either other people were really unlucky or I was really lucky, but personally the RNG felt balanced with the exception of a couple screens like the meme GB screen

For: I Wanna Visit the Rainbow Carnival
Old-school platforming with ayaya visuals, 4 gimmick/needle stages with a boss at the end of each, plus a final recap stage and a final boss. The only big nitpick I have is the final boss having a lot of iframes, but on the other hand it's a really cool boss that will test your reading and decision-making.
Yes, Soothe the Shroom counts. I like Rainbow Carnival more, though. ;p
Recommended for, well not beginners beginners, but as a harder challenge for beginners with some of the easier adventures on their clear list.

For: I Wanna Pointillism
For: I Wanna Pointillism
Difficulty based on 100% clear, any% would be around 10 points lower. You need 36/50 paintings for any% clear, and you can warp out of any painting while keeping your progress.
Pointillism is a 50-floor dotkid needle game with an "art museum" theme, but that short description cannot capture all the cool things it has: the clever gimmicks, the myriad of options in the pause menu/gift shop to improve your playing experience, the variety of layouts and concepts, some of which I'd never seen applied to dotkid needle before. In general, I tend to separate my gameplay experience in two independent axis, with the raw gameplay on one side and the aesthetics on the other, and the more I like on one axis, the more I can forgive on the other; thus, I can enjoy games with cool jumps and default tileset, or games with frustrating jumps but great atmosphere, aesthetics, production value, call it what you want. Might be a hot take, but sometimes one has to sacrifice a bit of smooth gameplay for theming or aesthetic reasons, and I respect that, even when I'm on the receiving end of it!
Pointillism is of course not without its rough edges (sideways gravity my nemesis!) but the general level is great, and the highlights are amazing. A few personal favorites are A scrambled path, A study on negative space, Labyrinth, Simplex Needle, Mirror Mirror. I don't want to spoil the specific stages, I think they're better enjoyed without previous knowledge, but I do want to point out that the difficulty curve is all over the place (although going by numerical order is not a bad choice) and while I agree with most of the "difficulty star" rankings, different people will struggle at different places and there are paintings I think are easier/harder than what the star ranking indicates.
I would definitely recommend any% to all dotkid enjoyers, and if you're willing to put in the time and patience, then 100% is absolutely worth it.
