For: I wanna be the rainbow MIKU
For: I wanna be the rainbow MIKU
an old classic, featuring 7 stages with a miku avoidance at the end, + 1 final extra miku as the true final boss.
The platforming is pretty oldschool, though theres some neat ideas here and there. The platforming section of the stages is really short, typically only 2 or 3 screens long, with a required secret in each one except the last.
The real meat of the game are the miku avoidances, which are surprisingly quite varied despite the age of the game. Many of them are pattern based, but a few of them are mostly RNG (orange and blue, namely). A few have silly ideas that affect the whole fight, like yellow miku spawning the player in the small space between her legs, or blue miku having the entire arena filled with water, which is much harder to deal with than infinite jump. Most of the avoidances are fairly easy, though blue miku can be extremely unfair sometimes, and purple miku takes some time learning how to read the rotating bouncing bursts and the lovetrap attacks. The final avoidance is 6 and a half minutes in length, focusing entirely on slow but dense attacks, requiring you to read gaps long in advance and squeeze through some tight gaps. Theres a few parts you need to remember (an instagib about 3 minutes in, and a couple parts where cherries suddenly change direction with the music), but you can play it blind pretty safely. This last miku is by far my favourite from the game and the main reason I chose to play it to begin with.
I'd recommend this to anyone interested in oldschool miku avoidances.

A classic for good reason. The first half is more reminiscent of Emperor, while the second half is mostly filled with mario-party esque minigames and short stages with lots of custom assets and enemies. be sure to do Meiko (right hub, top warp) last, since she's pretty hard and serves as a good final climax to the game, since the rest of the game consists of 2 kinda hard needle saves, a free race save, and then a few meme sections before the credits roll. For my tastes, the first half is where the game really shines, but outside of a couple frustratingly tight minigames, the second half wasn't particularly bad.

its a janky classic lovetrap-clone (sort of), but very recognizably ホネ's style. The miku is very frustrating, and its the hardest thing in the game; the first minute is incredibly easy pattern with some very easy rng, followed by a minute of intense rng attacks with really unfair transitions, followed by a minute of pure pattern that ends with a very choke-able lovetrap attack. I don't recommend playing the avoidance blind. The rest of the game is pretty standard 2011 adventure game stuff, lots of traps, some weird gimmicks, secret hunting, etc. After beating miku and getting all secrets, you fight buffed versions of all the bosses a-la lovetrap, though thankfully there's no buffed miku. The extra stage has 2 bosses, both of which are pretty easy, though both have 1 attack which can wall you with 100% certainty if you are unlucky, though I'd say they both let you live more often than not.
for what it's worth, its not a bad game and its pretty enjoyable if you are into this sort of thing. I don't think this game in particular is going to change anyone's minds on this era of fangames, but if the screenshots up top are enough to pique your interest, you should go ahead and try it.

some great gimmick needle at an easy difficulty level, with atmospheric visuals and music.
The game is very short, so the (intentional) lack of save file loading is not a serious issue, to the point I think it's somewhat obtuse or dishonest to complain about it, especially when it ties into the game thematically in an interesting way. The story aspect is neat, though the ending veers into edgy territory, and some grammar mistakes stick out a bit when reading.
I'd highly recommend this game, especially to newer players looking for a short challenge.

A watershed moment for fangames, and more or less the reason any of us are making and playing them all these years later. It's very oldschool yet simultaneously incredibly ahead of its time. Nekoron's design and creativity doesn't fully get a chance to shine until Charr, but what's here is still incredible.
An absolute must-play for any fangamer interested in the history and evolution of fangames.
