For: I Wanna Hope the
this game is a product of its time, and truly not a good one at that. very many aspects of this game are highly flawed and the platforming is strange and unfun.
the following is a semi-detailed breakdown of the stages in this game:
"kill and killing" is mostly okay except the last screen, as the water physics are horribly janky and doing corners with said water physics is brutally difficult, way harder than anything previously seen in the stage.
"hardships and healing" is an okay stage, probably the best one in the game. I enjoyed the triggers and them being the overall "gimmick" of the stage. the second save is way harder than the others, but that's okay, I'm not expecting great balance.
"Tower of crime and murderous intent" is an alright stage, the gimmick being 3x speed. the final corner is cruel, other than that, very easy and somewhat fun. in Z3 though, this screen is pain.
"Old glory and Decline" is unfun, annoying repeated vine gates and a secret that no one on earth would guess. the layout of this stage is also very confusing as similar screens repeat. this is generally a theme through the entire game, though.
now you enter the second set of stages, where the game becomes considerably worse. up until here, the game would be a solid 5.0 - 6.0.
"Bad of White" is a very strange one. it has some very strange platforming and a very strange puzzle screen that took me a while of just jumping around randomly to find out what to do. the big cherry part is interesting but I didn't really enjoy it.
"Mirage of Imitation" is a mixed bag - half the stage is okay (first 2 screens) but the 3rd and secret screen is very annoying avoidance-needle RNG. maybe I'm just impatient, but I personally hate this gimmick.
"6363" is the worst screen in the game by far and bumps the whole game down by so many points. there are 9 screens in a row, all of which are hard. I don't know if this is intentional or if the creator genuinely forgot to put saves, but this is ridiculous. this is miles ahead of anything else in this game in terms of difficulty. this entire stage took about 3.5 hours to clear, including secret.
"And, time begins to move again" has a very annoying gimmick - you randomly freeze. this is the most counter-intuitive gimmick I've ever seen. another gimmick gets added after a few screens, four daggers slowly make their way towards you every time you freeze. this - obviously - does not improve things.
"ENOD" is the final stage and isn't necessarily bad, as it has light use of gimmicks and is mostly just needle. the final save is very unfun, the rest of the needle is okay.
the final boss is the worst boss I've ever fought. there is next to no element of skill, as most of the time you get walled. she has a random chance to do a jump that instantly kills you, she has a random chance to start shooting mid air and wall you, she has a chance to get stuck on the first spike for no apparent reason. nothing is consistent and nothing makes sense in this fight. this fight is horrible and made me almost want to quit the game. after a grueling 3 hours of wasting my time, RNG decided to spare me of instantaneous death and grace me with completion of this horrible fangame.
