Fangaming experience began in August 2018, so only modest achievements here. However, I'll describe some relevant FAQs here made to me during my stay here since 2018:
Q: Are videogames art?
A: Yes
Q: Are fangames videogames?
A: Yes
Q: Why are your reviews long and unconventional?
A: I am a film reviewer; in a way, I sort of unconsciously dragged my style of film reviewing to the world of fangames. I often involve personal experiences in my writing. Expect that structure; I'm not planning to change it.
Q: How are you rating games? Do you compare fangames as normal games that your ratings are lower than all other people ratings or are you just a critical person?
A: My ratings are not lower than people's ratings all of the time regarding fangames, but they are most of the time. However, this is not my intention. I am rating them as normal games, as in, I don't have a different spectrum for rating "normal", "official" games than fangames. They are in the same scale, because they are all videogames. I don't like to think myself as a critical person; ratings are just subjective numbers. However, I have realized that I rate games more harshly than I rate films/short films, which I do more often.
Q: What are your favorite fangames?
A: I have not played enough fangames to make a comprehensive and representative list, but this can be answered by going to my Favorites list. Anything getting 6.7 or higher will be considered immediately as a favorite.

This one doesn't.
Horrible graphics and tilesets too.
P.S. Do not let the music fool you in the case you do download the game to play it: it is not Uhuhu-styled.

The gimmick is inventive. It is not as exploited as it should be, and this is a con. You will find yourself playing mostly as regular Kid most of the time because, well, we're used to the little guy. The mechanics for the other two transformations are very well thought out; the problem is that not many situations require it. Bosses are creative bliss, but not as well done as those in Blocktroid 2, and to be honest, the final boss is very disappointing and flawed: Boss 2 poses a bigger challenge and is a longer fight than the final one. Also, as it is Erik's habit, the final boss has the ability to summon past bosses; here, that depends on RNG, so my second attempt at the boss had him summoning bosses over and over again with little time to hit the final boss, and at a time called the first boss three times in a row without him making any attack! This is very tedious. Sure, it is unlikely to happen again, but that doesn't make it impossible. Also, it doesn't have a second phase, which would have made him much more interesting.
Still, for a short-not-so-short adventure, it has its charms and the Cuphead inspiration is even more palpable than ever. Give it a shot: we need inspired artists like Erik and not so many users that copy-paste formats and generic-jumps trash.

What's worse? A double diamond, or an invert?
If you're not sure yet, this game will make sure you are sure.
For: I wanna be the Blocktroid 2
Everything that made the original Blocktroid was expanded and many of the mistakes (mostly lighting) were fixed, creating a unique and artistically distinguishable adventure experience. The game is quite good, not giving up on how interactive The Kid is with the enemies and the levels overall. Finally, the adventure has a proper length and the experience is rewarding. Music is quite great (might put some people off but hey, this is a sinister environment), the atmosphere is claustrophobic and enemy designs are worth two thumbs up. Most importantly, boss fights are mostly amazing and the achievement system, though not quite relevant, is a nice addition.
There are still some issues. Both the atmposphere and graphics are recycled from the original game, so it feels more like a remake than a sequel. Also, platforming increased in difficulty by adding generic jumps overall, mostly gates and diagonals, which are basic for any aspiring beginner, but it becomes repetitive at some point. Also, there doesn't seem to be variety in the levels and, ironically, the extra is the ugliest (also the most unfair, because even if you're familiarized with the enemy mechanics by this point, they are placed in weird areas that make it kind of annoying). The whole color palette is, in average, very monochromatic, so stages feel rather repetitive. Water physics are badly done. It is not Water 3. It behaves like normal ground. Granted, the intention is to help the beginner player with a double jump out of the water, but the mechanic of the first jump screws many of your planned jumps since the beginning. Why was this decision taken is beyond me. Finally, some mini-bosses are harder (and better) than the bosses, being a particular case Spider Kid, so difficulty curve, unlike in the previous game, is uneven.
During the climax, I would have appreciated more explosion sound effects for the escape sequence since you're clearly remaking the climactic experience of Super Metroid; these effects could have completely taken from there and they wouldn't be annoying. On the contrary, it feels weird to see everything blowing up without sound; it kills the hype.
Despite these disadvantages, this comes as highly recommended simply because there is heart, effort and originality behind it, and it should be recognized.
"BLEAUGH"
For: I wanna be the Blocktroid
So why the rating? Because during 40% of the game, the graphics are too dark to spot out the enemies, the projectiles or the tilesets. It harms enjoyment quite a bunch. This also happens a lot during the second phase of the final boss, which ironically I first-tried, but still, it really doesn't help the cause at all.
For a refreshing take on an adventure with a cool soundtrack, give it a shot. Difficulty should pose a challenge for beginners; nevertheless, be warned that the lighting will be bad during a big portion of the game.
