Hearty Jewel is a 4-stage long adventure game featuring a variety of gimmicks and bosses to keep you entertained. Each stage is themed differently and keeps the game feeling very fresh throughout, provided traps don't dull the excitement factor for you.
The main strength of the game for me comes with the maker's design with the accompanying gimmicks. The fourth stage is a particular highlight, which utilizes a more recent well-known gimmick quite nicely without feeling cumbersome or weighed down by cycles or waiting around. Some traps did feel a bit overkill, although I can't say they ever really got frustrating. It is what is is, that being a trap-heavy adventure game.
The bosses are also particularly fun, especially the final boss. Having said that, the difficulty also peaks here with some questionable design decisions. A couple of attacks pose a fairly hefty challenge whereas other attacks are virtually non-existant, having you just go through the motions to get to the later parts of the fight again. One attack in particular near the end seemed incredibly pointless in relation to the gimmick. Still, small hiccups in the grand scheme of things.
If you're not put off by traps, you're likely to have a good time here. Despite some rough patches and the restarting music, it's a pretty charming adventure.

For: I wanna Qubism
Qubism is a fun and pretty creative avoidance clocking in at just under 2 minutes, featuring a variety of interesting and rather unusual attacks which make for a pretty intense ride.
The irregularity of some of the attacks make it quite challenging initially until you warm to it and get used to how to read them, which was part of the main appeal during my playtime. Some personal highlights in regards to the attacks were the Sonic-themed attack where bullets draw towards you when you go near them, making for some very interesting manoeuvres. Also the gravity flip/no jump attack was particularly interesting.
I wasn't really a fan of the start of the song which made getting past the intro every attempt grow a little tiresome, although that's moreso a personal taste in regards to music. The song later grew better and more melodic which I much preferred, but alas this isn't an iTunes review.
Definitely worth a shot if you're an avoidance guy. Chances are you'll find something in this fight that'll tickle your fancy.

For: I wanna series Mixture relay 6
The 6th entry in the Series Mixture Relay series. This features a mix of interesting little gimmicks, a few puzzles segments and a handful of bosses to keep you entertained. There's a fair share of fun stuff in here and although I ended up feeling quite divisive about it, it's still a pretty solid little game.
The strength of the game for me lied in the platforming, which had some fun gimmicks such as a variety of enemies in the first stage which exploded into bullet patterns upon dying. This made for some fun little segments where you had to plan your safespots whilst taking the platforming hazards into account. I also enjoyed the chain reaction explosives in the later stage in combination with the kill-all-the-robot rooms. A couple did get a little frustrating due to the high number of enemies placed, but there weren't many cases of this.
There are a few bosses too, one of which has Carnival's signature style put into the visuals which is nice to see. Having said that, whilst I enjoyed the visual presentation and production I didn't actually have that much fun playing it which was unfortunate. It felt just sort of dull, particularly the mechanical segment where it just swaps sides and aims bullets at you and, that's sort of it until the next segment.
There's also a true final stage which you can access by checking your game directory after beating the game for the password. It's pretty fun platforming-wise, although the boss just felt like a mess despite the interesting time-stop mechanic. I had a hard time getting good at it and made lots of frustrating and silly mistakes, but even putting that aside I just wasn't a big fan of how it played. I'm sure a great deal of people would like it, but this along with the previous boss just really weren't enjoyable for me.
The self-made visuals are nice and there's some fun segments weighed down by some questionable parts, which will probably make it a little divisive. Still, it's a memorable game for sure and more than likely worth a try to see which side you'll go with.

For: I wanna be the Chloris
Chloris is a pretty enjoyable adventure, lasting a few stages with a good mix of bosses and gimmicks to keep things fresh. Some parts feel reminiscent of older adventure in terms of trap-heavy segments, but with some more smooth surprises in store for later.

For: I wanna be the Krypton
Krypton is a 36-room needle game, alternating saves between the two makers. It features a couple of extra gimmicks beyond just standard needle, such as dotkid and speed changing, as well as a handful of easter eggs thrown in for good measure.
The game flows very nicely and no saves stick out as badly designed or unbalanced, making for a very pleasant needle experience. The difference between Inferno's and Nader's styles is noticeable, but not jarring and makes for a good combination. I particularly liked the usage of dotkid and speed which made the platforming feel more fresh and interesting. I would've liked to see them perhaps elaborated on more for the final few screens, maybe a big combination of the gimmicks on a larger screen to reach the final warp, as I was left caught off-guard when the game had ended.
Overall a very solid needle game, as to be expected from two great needle makers.
Edit: Zwanzig informed me that he doesn't remember any speed-changing gimmicks in the game, and honestly neither do I. Still, I'll leave that in the review as a reminder to not wait long periods before reviewing games as your memory may deteriorate to dangerous levels by the time it comes around.
