A great game for newer members (if not for having no public link sadly).
There's tons of concepts and gimmicks in the platforming that new players will eventually need to get familiar with, and while they may not all behave the same across fangames, this game serves as a great introduction across the board, packaged in a cute, easy to work with formula. The smaller rooms ensure that unlike many other games, it never strays to have too long or complicated segments and with few exceptions, the rooms and traps are very fair with just a nice sprinkle of catching you off guard.
The bosses aren't quite up to snuff, sadly, and are very simplistic but it does offer a good chance to balance platforming with projectiles in an easy setting, which is a skill that players eventually need to pick up.
The biggest complaint would probably be the lack of sfx on anything and coma-inducing music choices, ranging from music box lullaby style to absolutely nothing, so I'd say bring your own tunes for this one.
Overall, if you're a new player this is a great place to start and if you're not, its varied enough to stay interesting.

For: I Wanna Be The I Wanna Star 4

Really phenomenal gimmick needle game with a lot of flair and charm. 10 stages of 5 floors a piece, each featuring their own varied gimmicks that generally flow well into the platforming and offer a little bit of thinking into the process.
Production wise, it looks phenomenal. The info seems to indicate there's a lot of online shaders jammed into it, but they look like they were modified to fit an aesthetic and, for the most part, it worked. There's a handful of 'went too far' moments, but for the most part it looks really good (and has low quality options for those whose computers can't handle it) and is unobstrusive.
As for the platforming, its mostly really fun. It peaks in difficulty pretty early really, in the 15-25 range and gets a bit easier and stays level for the rest after that, so if you run into trouble early, its probably fine. The gimmicks last long enough to be used in interesting ways without overstaying their welcome and becoming repetitive and I generally enjoyed all of them with a few exceptions (the mouse one, for instance, which thankfully was only one screen).
There's a couple oddities that stand out - firstly all the rooms don't reset. This means cycles don't line up with resets - it keeps things looking really smooth but occasionally it means you're waiting for cycles. Its done in a way that's never too bad though, so its not like you're standing around for more than a second or two, but it does make learning some segments harder. Secondly, the save placement is a bit weird at times but again, never a real problem. And finally, I think its a slightly modified engine (maybe higher fps?) but the differences are quite minor.
Overall, I'd absolutely recommend this to any experienced player looking for gimmick needle with a little bit of puzzle elements. I really enjoyed it and there's a lot of great ideas under a pretty decent polish, which is most of what you'd look for in the genre.

For: I Wanna Leave This Hell
For: I Wanna Leave This Hell
Leave this hell is a very solid needleventure style game with a couple really unfortunate spots (for me, anyway). It is, supposedly, unfinished but nothing about the game really gives that feel. There's plenty of content and a suitable finale.
Production wise, it has a very distinct atmosphere and ambiance that fits the theme of the game well, though it ends up feeling somewhat homogeneous. It's very bleak too, though that's certainly intentional and plays both somewhat in its favor and against it.
The platforming is definitely the core and the peak of the game, for the most part. The needle design manages to feel varied and fun despite not really shifting difficulty much at all during the course of the game, and pretty much every stage had something to distinguish it, giving a nice feeling of progression. However, many of the stages end with kind of a moodkiller which bothered me, and there's a couple stages whose gimmick (if you can call it that) could be called misguided at best, and nausea inducing at worst.
The bosses are fun and serve as a nice change-up, though they felt quite easy in comparison with the platforming - though there's nothing wrong with that. But for anyone looking for a needle focused game and fears bosses, this should not be a reason to stop you.
As a warning for those who worry about optional content/secrets: Near the end of the game, there is a split path which as of v.93 gives you an additional area in a very obvious secret. This area contains a medley + boss rush of Random's own games and was frankly a game ruining segment for me that you do not have the option to escape from.
Overall, outside of a couple blemishs and one misguided side adventure, I enjoyed the vast majority of this game and would recommend it if you're interested in needleventure style games in this difficulty range for sure. It manages to utilize some rarely seen gimmicks that deserve more screentime as well as some classics in a great way, but for those who it does concern, do not take the visual challenge tag lightly as while I typically find I'm more sensitive to these kinds of things than most, the stage in question was more aggravating for me than most sudoku tier effects.

Generally a decent little two stage game that's quite beginner friendly.
Looks basic as hell, with mostly default tiles and guy rock but the bosses do their part and there's nothing offensive.
The platforming mixes in some traps with a lot of gimmicks which makes it serve as a decent introduction to many common fangame gimmicks, including standard engine gimmicks and some of the more common other ones.
The bosses are simplistic but neat, they have a distinct style and stick to it and execute well.
Overall its a decent little playthrough that I could recommend as a starter game, as it gets you a little familiarity with a lot of concepts and has good variety but it'd be over pretty quick for anyone with a bit of fangame experience.

A pretty solid, high production medium length adventure game with a lot going for it.
It looks great, there's good application of effects all over the place and nice details that don't harm visibility and it really comes together to create great looking, animated environments. The boss production is stellar as well, with clean animations, lots of projectile variations and effects.
Platforming wise, its very easy but enjoyable. Each stage has a solid identity with its own gimmick and while some saves are long, they're all pretty fair and interesting. For the main game platforming, its probably peaks more in the 40 range. The extra platforming is harder and generally worse (I also experienced a bug which made the ladders not always working to jump off of, which ended up killing my playthrough in extra, though during the main game its not really relevant).
Finally, the bosses are the meat of this game and are much harder, and kind of bring a focus into one of the biggest issues with the game - balance. The platforming make a cool beginner game but the bosses will chase them away, or some of them will. I don't mind the differentials between the platforming and the boss difficulty, but the difference between adjacent bosses and even with the same boss do get out of hand. Some of the early bosses are quite easy and short, and some are long and much harder and its not a logical curve by any means. Within the bosses themselves too, certain attacks are much harder than others, making attack rng feel like a crapshoot sometimes. Still, they're well produced and interesting and as long as you can handle the harder parts, they're mostly quite enjoyable.
All in all, its worth playing if you enjoy boss fights. The skill level needed to beat the bosses far exceeds the platforming and while it isn't boring for the most part, you'll breeze through it. You'll definitely need a bit of patience as the bosses do have some problems, but its worth checking out because there's some really cool fights along the way, and they come fast and frequently.
