Jingle jam is the result of a seasonal themed collab project which invited anyone who wished to participate to create a stage. The spiritual successor to Spook Jam, it bears a lot of resemblances and a few key differences. Unlike Spook Jam, I do appreciate (even factoring in that I did every stage anyway) the ability to pick and play what you want.
As expected from a game of this type, the style, quality and content of the game varies a fair bit but every stage had appeal and that's good. There's a lot of creativity showing through, with people generally trying to do something different from one another, which was great to see. It feels like it was a great project to give people a guaranteed audience to work on something new and try something out, which is a fantastic basis for a project in my opinion. Even factoring in there were a lot of newer makers showcased, the overall quality level was very high and its a promising sight for the future of fangames.
There's a lot of fun to be had, and a lot of weird stuff to get through and I'd definitely recommend to anyone to give this one a try and see what it has to offer.

Review based on medium.
Really solid beginner tier avoidance. Well designed to mitigate learniness and generally looks good and fits well.

A simple oldschool adventure game with 4 areas off a hub that can be done in any order, featuring their own unique identities and gimmicks and a boss.
Bottom left is a standard trap area with, topleft is a neat see-the-moon style gimmick lines with tons of new concepts, top right is a spike/block toggle gimmick with a short avoidance and boss and bottom right is a gross abomination (jumpscare warning).
The platforming in 3 of the stages is pretty cool, with two of them having neat gimmicks implemented in interesting ways. Production is kind of hit or miss but it definitely seems intentionally simple, so there's not a lot to complain about there. The bosses are a little imbalanced difficulty wise, but shouldn't really be a blocker.
The game kind of falls apart in the bottom right stage where it has a jumpscare, inexplicable quiz segment, a pure luck based segment and some of the worst visual challenges I've seen. This really drags it down, but it doesn't really gate off any content except the final avoidance so I'm not too bothered by it.
Speaking of which, the final avoidance is a nice chinese song with cute visuals and some interesting attacks which is brutally ruined by having a -35- second intro before the first attack.
Overall, I'd really recommend the top two stages, the bottom left one is alright and then you're probably not missing much from there.

A needle game with a lot to offer but also a lot weighing it down.
Compared to its predecessor, its a huge step up and the production is a lot better - its got a ton of effects to be interesting but is a much easier on the eyes and generally looks pretty cool. The downside of this is that it betrays what I would say is the cardinal rule of needle which is don't mess with respawning. Thankfully it was patched to disable the slow restarting (press C to toggle) but the fact you can't hit R is still irritating. This is exacerbated by the fact that its filled with F-jumps, long vine grabs, setup edge jumps and block ledges which you will end up spending a fair amount of time just falling to your death. Its not much per time, but boy does it add up.
Needle wise, this alternates between a ton of really cool, creative stuff, a TON of tedious setup full jumps that even if is at the start of a save you can't save a setup for and then every few jumps there's something miles more precise than the surrounding jumps. The latter is usually fine because saves are primarily short which means once you crack a tough jump you usually won't have to keep doing it.
I'd probably still recommend this game if you can stomach the setup jumps everywhere (and can consistently tap movements and 2f because you will need them very frequently) as there's still a lot of cool stuff to play but it definitely hindered the flow of the game for me.

Really solid but unfortunately half finished adventure game with some metroidvania style elements (though its hard to judge that with what exists).
It looks great (especially factoring in its age) and contains the central stage as well as two side stages, each featuring their own distinct gimmicks, styles and a boss. The production is there, with some nice particles, sound effects where it fits, suitable music distortion when you're in water and nice touches like that.
Platforming wise, its got an interesting design. A bit unbalanced in places but for the most part every save feels purposeful and unique, with moving objects mixed in with the core gimmicks that exist in each area. There's one ... trap? save that was kind of terrible but other than that, I liked it all. You get to backtrack through the areas after completion and its neat to see the alternate routes and such that end up being available to go back.
The bosses are fairly simple, featuring only a couple attacks each but integrate the stage gimmicks which is good. There's definitely some serious randomness effect in terms of optimizing damage, but for the purpose of casual play they feel good.
Overall its great for what exists. I can't imagine it'll ever get finished so you may as well consider it a finished product as is, making it a neat short adventure game rather than a grand adventure that could've been - but nonetheless, would well recommend this to newer players or something looking for something creative but easy.
