For: Scribble Notes
This is a pretty amazing game and I say that as someone who considers most of his other work gruesomely overrated. This is based on the all clear of the Scribble notes version. For reference, this is fundamentally the same game as I Wanna be the Scribble except some moderate changes in a couple realms, primarily non-restarting music and fewer spike traps.
Its an exploration based game with some metroidvania elements in terms of collecting items which allow you access to new sections of levels. Its far from a full metroidvania as there's no real standard combat and a lot of the progress is gated linearly, but thats not a bad thing by any means.
The real highlight of this is the platforming/gimmick interactions. It starts off simple and consistently gets more complex and interesting as new powerups are found and he does a great job of integrating the existing pieces into new platforming. The stages have a great aesthetic and a lot of charm and creative design and it makes each new room a treat. That's the one caveat is that working into the next room is great but you end up having to do almost every room twice because he decides to counterweigh the great gimmick and platforming design with garbage traps. The original version is supposedly far worse and while there weren't THAT many of them in notes, it doesn't change the fact that the quality of the traps is near zero. You'll be nearly done with a save and a flying spike comes at you that is trivial to dodge if you knew it was there and gibs if you don't. For this reason alone I'd recommend the notes version - it tones it down to acceptable levels instead of the game ruining experience of the standard version. Still, the ideas presented are creative and execution is never so challenging that repeating a save is that troublesome.
The bosses aren't stellar but they're still good. And, for me, the more important point is they're interesting. They tend to integrate the gimmicks and tools in different ways and atleast give you something to think about as you go. They likely won't be a hang up for anyone either, as they're pretty fair once you know what you're doing.
All in all its a very memorable experience and probably more so if you actually follow the story (which is all in Japanese), but even without that the platforming is a treat and the bosses are interesting and don't overstay their welcome. Go into it expecting to get dicked a bit by boring traps and you'll still end up pleasant surprised with the game.

A shortish gimmick needle game with an atmospheric touch.
Readme indicates its the maker's first game and it tends to show. This usually goes two ways - either one, they're doing weird things that show a lack of understanding, or two, there's a frequent change-up as you progress as the maker tries new things. The latter is usually better, and is the case here.
Stages feel quite distinct, which is good and tend to focus on different things, starting out with the more atmospheric style and very easy needle and moving into a more complex gameplay style with more straightforward production. The design definitely gets a lot more adventurous over time, and as such the game gets more interesting as well even if the visual effects don't stand out as much.
Overall, its a solid first showing. Ignoring that (since as the player that's not really your concern), its a decent easy-moderate needle game with some classic gimmicks and moving objects mixed in, worth playing if you like a more active needle style but don't feel comfortable with the difficulty that usually accompanies it.

Its an alright medium size needle game. Contains a few stages with some mild variety of a few screens each. These are fairly unremarkable, mixing in some default tiles with decent looking backgrounds. Later stages look a bit nicer but the main game is just an alright, non-eventful easier needle game. Design isn't too generic but nothing really stands out.
Extra does give it a little identity though, providing a 3x3 needle maze that has some interesting pathing - though other parts of it are very straightforward and corridory. Its not bad, by any means, but not amazing and was reasonably fun.

Really forgettable little needle game that pretty much only ventures off the 32px grid to add minispikes and since it shows the grid in game, you get to see that. Lots of generic fare with a few gimmicks mixed in but given there's incorrect collision order between the spikes and the conveyors, it makes it fairly annoying.
Its not really bad outside of that, but it doesn't stand out in any way.

For: I wanna make a Sandwich
For: I wanna make a Sandwich
Make a Sandwich is a rare and amazing case of a fangame that got out of dev hell successfully years later. It makes it a little odd to play at times since parts of the game are something like 6 years apart (including, of course, the aged yosniper engine). The water, platforms and ladders all take some getting used to but given the game keeps it reasonable enough, there's not too much to worry about.
Production generally climbs throughout the game, with fancier looking visuals, more effects and generally cleaner execution as time goes on.
Platforming wise, its mostly really good. It does suffer from a couple of really forgettable filler stages but for the most part, the stages have something unique to offer and play off it well without being repetitive.
Boss wise, it's a little all over. Some of them are fairly repetitive and a bit gibby/learny but they all have their own identity so you don't ever feel like you're running into the same fight over and over again, which is interesting given the similarities presented between a couple. The final boss is great and definitely up there as one of the most well executed, fangame-ified bosses.
Overall, if you like adventure games its definitely recommended. Probably not so much for beginners but for those a handful of games in, it'll fit great. If you like Run the Marathon, this feels a lot like that except a bit rougher - which is a great place for a game to be in.
