infinitejump1 is just wrong.
Otherwise this is an okay trap/adventurey thing that is old and shows it.

As says in the readme, this is an easy tower defense with fangame themes inspired by bloons. Fangame themes like brown blocks, kids, mikus and spikes and of course, a certain degree of aural assault. Its amusing and achieves what it set out to do, which while not anything supremely exciting is an alright short little TD experience.

A pretty massive needle collab from the chinese community, featuring some 28 grouped into three categories - easy, hard and special. The naming is a bit misleading, as nothing in this game I would say really dips all the way into the easy realm and much of the stages in special are moreso just very hard.
Having completed all of easy, hard and about half of special whilst giving the rest of them a try, I can say this is definitely one of the more impressive needle collabs. It plays to its strengths well, which while being predominantly traditional engine needle (with a couple trigger needle exceptions and one oddball line stage) really has a lot of variety. There's a ton of different styles present, from windy long pathing saves to tricky gimmick manouvers between water and vines, the aforementioned trigger needle, short precise saves to the extreme of even having an L stage in it.
Production wise its very good all around, though this varies a bit from stage to stage. The menu system is fantastic and the quality of life features are what makes the game for me. With the difficulty and grind presented in many stages, I would not have even considered playing the game if not for the fact you can leave a stage at any time and be returned to the exact save you left off at and this should be a required feature in basically every needle collab of this style. Thanks to this, it probably resulted in my clearing the only L-needle screen I'll ever do, because the ability to just hop in and out as something on the side made it enjoyable in small bursts, whereas a standalone it just doesn't feel worth bothering with for me.
Gameplay wise, its needle through and through. Don't come into this expecting much for surprises because there isn't much. If you're interested in needle though, its probably worth giving a try - the ability to sample the stages and play the ones you like with no gated content and a wide array of difficulty available makes it a solid game to take a stab at from time to time.
Overall, its easily recommended to needle fans or those looking to get more into the genre. There's a lot of styles to try out to get a feel for what kind of styles and makers you like but keep in mind there really isn't anything easy in this game, so don't make it an early choice. It starts in the low 50s-60s for easy, mid 60s-70s for hard and ramps up to about an 80-85 for special. I would probably say approach with care though, committing to beating it is questionable as because while the variety means there's probably a style you will like, there's also an equally high chance there will be ones you don't and this will likely be hard enough that you'll have to grind your way through it for a while.

An older traditional adventure game, considered a classic and seen and used in a lot of medleys. Follows the formula of a hub into stages/bosses followed by linear segments.
This game is quite the mixed bag for me. I don't feel like its aged that well, but some things it still does great. Production-wise, it was definitely ahead of its time with a lot of effects and lots of fancy flair - especially in the bosses. Compared to games of its age, it stands out but a lot of these effects are kind of obnoxious and not that special compared to what we see anymore. As a huge critic of visual challenge effects, this one definitely toed the line and crossed it more than once.
Likewise the platforming feels super dated - basically never diverts from 32 pixel grid spikes and gibby flyingspike traps or fake blocks that made much of it feel extremely tedious to me. Occasionally there's a neat gimmick/segment thrown it, and thankfully there's enough of them that you never feel like its a waste of time to continue, but the overall quality is not great.
The bosses also show their age, with the kind of design you expect from older fangames. They're very pattern heavy and quite learn heavy - a number of them are also quite long with a lot of boring downtime, so expect to spend some time on them though they aren't that difficult. To their credit though, they are very elaborate and memorable and its easy to see why this is a well-remembered game.
Overall its a really interesting game and still worth playing, especially as part of fangame history. If you're only concerned in the play experience though and don't enjoy the old-school adventure style, I'd give it a pass - there's definitely a lot of it I didn't enjoy but it undeniably still has a fair amount to offer.

This game kind of defies descriptions by traditional fangame criteria. It ends up, largely, a bizarro side-scrolling action adventure game with some fangame elements. There's minimal regular platforming, instead tossing a wide array of enemies at you and focused around a moderately deep combat system, balancing stamina, mana and weapon types.
This game really pushes both ends of the spectrum. Most of the stuff is drawn in mspaint to the quality level you'd expect of drugged up first grader, though its certainly distinct and clearly intentional. Outside of that, its got a lot of effects, some high quality particle work and plenty of functionality outside of the aesthetic style.
Gameplay wise, the stage segments are quite varied a lot of the time, mixing up combat with many different enemies with a handful of different gimmicks along the way and some sporadic traps to keep you on your toes. There's quite a few bosses as well, which are all quite unique and of mixed quality. Additionally, there's a fairly involved story which is all in Japanese and I have no idea what happened but its kind of amusing to imagine what could be as you interact with a wide cast of characters in diverse environments. There's a ton of content here in general, and while quite easy can still take hours to get through.
Overall, this is one of those games that I feel like fits the theoretical list of fangames that are noteworthy in their own ways - not necessarily entirely for quality - but definitely unmatched by others. If you like the quirky, bizarre and unpredictable side of fangames this is a must-play recommendation. If you like traditional fangame design, this probably won't be for you - there's nothing normal about this game, really standing out as an eccentric oddity amongst a niche not known for conforming to traditional design either.
