A 100F game with aesthetic and stylistic changeups every 3 floors.
Overall the production is mostly quite good, with a lot of nice tilesets (and a handful of not so good ones, but they're the minority). Music varies quite a lot throughout, but as is with these games its hard to judge based on that.
As a 100F game, of course the main factor will be the quality level of the platforming and this one is a bit all over the place. There's a fair bit of interesting design, and a fair bit of corridor/32px generic stuff, some open design and some claustrophobic stuff and all kinds of things in between. The gist being you will undoubtedly find things to dislike but there's probably something for all needle players too. The problem is with the insanely skewed balancing, you're also likely to get stuck on something you don't like which is probably the games largest weakness.
The overall difficulty curve is kind of an inverted parabola, peaking in the middle of the game, around the 60s. Beyond that though, the individual saves are all over the place, with many multisave screens having one that is distinctly harder than the rest combined which seems like it'd be hard to miss (especially since it tends to be longer too).
So its bumpy, but the average level is pretty good, and i think importantly it ends on a nice changeup which is much appreciated. Overall it'd put it middle of the road for the 70s difficulty tier of 100F games, worth playing if you like mostly straight needle and like 100F games and have gone through the others.

Solid medium-length adventure/trap game.
Production is good throughout, with a lot of nice visual effects and areas. Has the well appreciated soundcheck and audio balance that actually works with it. Sound effects are mostly lower quality stock SFX, but nonetheless the use is appreciated.
The platforming is fun, it leverages the fact that it never gets too hard to mix in various difficulty and length saves with mixed amounts of traps, keeping you on your toes while never stymying the flow of the game. A wide variety of gimmicks appear along the way too, giving it its own identity.
The bosses had some attack balance issues, I'd say, and some questionable post-boss stuff that would necessity a re-do if you messed up on but nothing too out of place.
Overall its very solid and worth playing if you want a easier/middle difficulty classic adventure/trap game.

One of the better old eastern adventures in my book. Its got a lot of highs and a lot of lows, but overall the total package is quite solid. Probably more so if you're able to read the story, but I can't really comment on that. Difficulty wise, its important to note that the game starts fairly low and ramps up to about a 60. The final boss then spikes this up significantly (arguably a classic fangame style), resulting in its rating.
Production value wise, its roughly what you expect from an old carnival game. There's some interesting looking boss drawings and that's about all you get. Recolored default tiles, restart music and bosses full of nothing but cherries otherwise.
Platforming/stage wise, there's a lot of interesting aspects. The difficulty balance is a bit all over the place, but not in the way that's ever problematic (generally the outliers just happen to be weirdly free saves). There's a ton of changeups, which in a longer adventure game feels good. Even if you end up seeing the same tilesets over and over, the fact that it cycles through them with different gimmicks/styles and makes it feel like you're always going somewhere is very well done. Most of the traps are pretty meh, but there's a few interesting trigger movements and it doesn't really hurt the overall deal.
Boss wise, its also a mixed bag. There's some good variety (a general strength of this game) and that helps a lot. There's always some learning involved in how to deal with the various attacks, as there's a lot of overlapping stuff in this game (so be warned of that), both from multiple sources or just lingering attacks. The final boss is, as mentioned, a large difficulty spike and while a fairly good boss, will likely be a sizable chunk of your playtime. Its a bit of a grind as there's a lot of stuff to learn as you go and some annoying combinations/effects that slow down progress - still, its well known for good reason as there's a lot of interesting pieces to it.
As someone who isn't the biggest fan of much of Carnival's older work, this one does stand out as holding up well to this day. I'd recommend it if you don't mind low production and some balancing woes, as there's a ton of content and variety in the game.

This is a weird game. Difficulty rating based on autofire (which is not built in), it goes up a fair bit without it.
The platforming is all copied and completely free compared to the bosses in the game, which are a real weird mix of inexplicable things. They're entertaining, though, for the most part as long as you don't get stuck. That said I'm not entirely sure what happened when I beat two of three of the harder bosses, so maybe there's more risk than I think.
Production value is fairly non-existent outside of some interesting sound choices, and since platforming is completely irrelevant it plays kind of like a confusing boss rush and its okay in that regard. Can't really recommend it unless you feel like doing something stupid, in which case it surpasses the many bad games with no creativity.
